In this paper are introduced some concepts of interval-valued fuzzy relations and some of their properties: reflexivity, symmetry, T-transitivity, composition and local reflexivity. The existence and uniqueness of T-transitive closure of interval-valued fuzzy relations is proved. An algorithm to compute the T-transitive closure of finite interval-valued fuzzy relations is showed. Some propertie...

Background: In the developed countries, ileostomy is mainly constructed as a protective cover for distal colorectal or ileoanal pouch anastomosis, but in developing it still often made emergency surgical settings where infective conditions such enteric tubercular perforations are common and patients present late their course of illness which precludes primary closure. Aims Objectives: The aim s...

We present a previously unreported series of five cases of acute angle closure glaucoma associated with watching the Australia soap opera "Neighbours". Two cases were bilateral and associated with watching two episodes of "Neighbours" on the same day. The pathogenesis, and possible role of watching soap operas in the causation of primary angle closure glaucoma is discussed.

Social network research seldom considers the possible effect of individual psychological differences on network structures. We propose several hypotheses about how individual differences might predispose actors to structure their immediate social environment in terms of seeking network closure or a preparedness to sustain structural holes. To investigate these hypotheses, we introduce a new met...

Social structures emerge as a result of individualsmanaging a variety of different social relationships. Societies can be represented as highly structured dynamicmultiplex networks. Herewe study the dynamical origins of the specific community structures of a large-scale socialmultiplex network of a human society that interacts in a virtual world of amassivemultiplayer online game. Therewe find ...

background: percutaneous transcatheter closure has been proposed as an alternative to surgical closure or long-term anticoagulation in patients with presumed paradoxical embolism and patent foramen ovale (pfo). methods: there were two symptomatic patients (29 and 47 years old) who underwent percutaneous transcatheter closure of pfo after at least two events of cerebral ischemia; one embolic eve...

Smarandache initiated neutrosophic sets (NSs) which can be used as a mathematical tool for dealing with indeterminate and inconsistent information. In order to apply NSs conveniently, single valued neutrosophic sets (SVNSs) were proposed by Wang et al. In this paper, we propose single valued neutrosophic relations (SVNRs) and study their properties. The notions of anti-reflexive kernel, symmetr...

A large body of empirical studies shows that religion often serves as a factor promoting positive, healthy outcomes in the lives of American adolescents. Yet existing theoretical explanations for these religious effects remain largely disjointed and fragmented. This article attempts to formulate a more systematic, integrated, and coherent account of religion's constructive influence in the live...

This study introduces a conceptually based, systematic evaluation process employing multivariate techniques to evaluate a multidisciplinary social work-lawyer intervention model (JASA-LEAP). Logistic regression analyses were used with a random sample of case records (n = 250) from three intervention sites. Client retention, program fidelity, and exposure to multidisciplinary services were signi...

Although recent research has demonstrated the benefits of multicultural experience for reducing personal levels of intergroup bias, the potential for an intergenerational effect has yet to be explored. Using samples of Jewish-Israeli (Study 1a) and Palestinian-Israeli (Study 1b) mother–child dyads, we found that maternal multicultural experience was indirectly related to greater social toleranc...
