Abstract Experiments in inverse kinematics are a novel approach to study short-range correlations atomic nuclei. Such fully exclusive experiments offer unique advantages over normal as they allow the structure of short-lived radioactive-nuclei using quasi-free scattering reactions and measure complete final state directly. Using a three-body model with density-dependent contact interaction, we discuss the root mean square distance between the two valence neutrons in Li nuclues as a function of the center of mass of the neutrons relative to the core nucleus Li. We show that the mean distance takes a pronounced minimum around the surface of the nucleus, indicating a strong surface di-neutron correlation. We demonst...

The reaction 9Be(28Mg,26Ne+gamma)X has been studied at 82 MeV/nucleon together with two similar cases, 30Mg and 34Si. Strong evidence that the reactions are direct is offered by the parallel-momentum distributions of the reaction residues and by the inclusive cross sections. The pattern of the partial cross sections for 28Mg suggests the presence of correlations. A preliminary theoretical discu...
We calculate densities of excited states in the quasiparticle random-phase approximation (QRPA) with Skyrme interactions and volume pairing. We focus on low-energy peaks/bumps in the strength functions of a range of Ca, Ni, and Sn isotopes for J π = 0+, 1−, and 2+. We define an “emitted-neutron number,” which we then use to distinguish localized states from scattering-like states. The degree of...
Decay studies of very neutron-deficient nuclei ranging from 39 Ti to 49 Ni have been performed during a projectile fragmentation experiment at the GANIL/LISE3 separator. 49 Ni, half-lives and decay spectra have been measured. In a few cases, γ coincidence measurements helped to successfully identify the initial and final states of transitions. In these cases, partial decay scheme are proposed. ...
Interaction cross sections for nuclei with Z52 – 12 on a C target are calculated in the Glauber model with matter densities obtained from Skyrme Hartree-Fock and relativistic Dirac potentials. The shell-model orbital occupations and separation energies are taken from configuration-mixing calculations and experimental spectroscopic data. Halo effects are present in the most neutron-rich C and N ...
