A bright blue fluorescent graphene oxide that originates from passivation of surface reactive sites by amide formation and ring-opening amination of epoxide has been prepared. The surface polarity and charges of the fluorescent graphene oxide can synchronously be tuned by varying the used alkylamines.

Reactive oxygen species selectively accelerated transitions between various silver nanodots. The blue was developed as an oxidant-resistant imaging agent and analyte reporter. In addition to the spectral response of nanodots to ROS, silver nanodots were formulated to detect analytes with excellent selectivity and picomolar detection limit when coupled to glucose oxidase.

Selective polymeric extractants were prepared for preconcentration of Cibacron reactive red dye, a dye that is often applied with Cibacron reactive blue and Cibacron reactive yellow for dyeing of fabrics. The best extractant was fabricated (in chloroform) using methacrylic acid (as monomer), ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (as crosslinker), AIBN (as initiator for polymerization), and red dye as ...

Visible light at high intensity was found to kill bacteria while low-power light in the visible and near infrared region enhances bacterial proliferation. The present review summarizes evidence demonstrating that the mechanism of visible light- bacteria interaction involves reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation. The ROS are photo induced by bacterial endogenous photosensitizers. Phototoxic e...

In a variety of tissues (lymph node and glandular stroma), mast cells have been found in close and often intimate association with macrophages containing numerous ferritin-like particles in their cytoplasm and within cytoplasmic vacuoles (siderosomes). Phagocytic vacuoles in a given macrophage differed markedly. Some contained abundant Prussian blue-reactive material and others contained period...

Textile industry effluents contain reactive dyes that may harm our receiving waters. A typical reactive blue (RB) 19 dye is frequently detected in significant concentrations in textile industry effluents. Such dyes have generally shown resistance to decomposition and tend to persist in the environment for long periods and multiply the impacts to water and environment. Therefore, the present inv...

Olive (Sebastes serranoides), black (Sebastes melanops), and blue rockfish (Sebastes mystinus) are all common inhabitants of nearshore ecosystems on the West coast of North America and important components of the recreational fishery off California. Acoustic monitoring studies indicate that olive rockfish are highly residential and that black rockfish are capable of long migrations and have les...

Using nickel electrode as dyeing electrode, sodium carbonate fixing alkali and anodic region region, cotton fabric was electrochemically dyed by reactive blue X-BR under external DC power supply. By comparing the rate, fixation polarization curve evenness of two methods, it can be concluded that electrochemical effect on dye is far better than traditional method.
