Vitis vinifera L. adapts well to a scarce availability of water in the soil. However, recent decades, combination thermal stress with prolonged scarcity could have dramatic consequences on vine’s physiological status. In this paper, we evaluated effects two canopy shapes and irrigation regimes at veraison vine physiology, yield parameters grape composition through biochemical molecular approach...

Environmental flows are an integral component for the conservation and management of rivers, flood plains other wetlands in Murray–Darling Basin. Under Basin Plan, environmental water is managed by Commonwealth Water Office (CEWO) states. We assessed CEWO (2014–15 to 2018–19), compared our findings with expected outcomes vegetation Basin-wide Watering Strategy (EWS) interviewed managers about e...

A 12-year-old male child suffering from pain, redness, blurring and watering of right eye since six months was diagnosed as suffering from nodular episcleritis probably tuberculosis. Diagnosis was supported by the additional finding of enlarged cervical lymph node found on aspiration cytology. Complete resolution occurred after anti-tuberculosis therapy.

Radopholus similis was less pathogenic to greenhouse-grown citrus seedlings in Leon loamy sand than in Lakeland fine sand. This was not affected by different watering regimes. Seedling growth reduction by the burrowing nematode in either soil, compared with noninfected controls, was significant at the 1% level.

We compared responses of cuttings and seedlings of Eucalyptus globulus Labill. subsp. globulus to water stress in a 9-week greenhouse experiment. Optimal water availability was achieved by watering pots daily to field capacity, and two water stress treatments were imposed by reducing watering frequency to every 6 or 14 days. Within each treatment, height growth rates of cuttings and seedlings w...

A decrease in foliar δ (13)C with increasing precipitation is a common tendency in steppe plants. However, the rate of decrease has been reported to differ between different species or populations. We here hypothesized that plant populations in the same habitat of temperate steppes may not differ in foliar δ (13)C response patterns to precipitation, but could differ in the levels of plasticity ...

Bio-water saving can be defined as the reduction of crop water consumption employing biological measures. This is the focus of efforts to save water in agriculture. Different levels of water-use efficiency (WUE) have been developed. The genetic diversity of WUE has been confirmed in several crops. WUE is the basis of bio-watering and physiological WUE is the key. The degree to develop physiolog...

The extensive system of poultry production (commonly known as “free-range”) is based on the practice of allowing the bird access to foraging areas outside the poultry house. This system was widely practiced prior to the development of more productive strains of poultry and better management facilities (automated feeding and watering, better housing, environmental control) around the middle of t...
