This paper reports the preparation, characterization and the crystal X-ray structures of metal-containing ionic liquid complexes based on chiral pyridinium cations and tetrachloropalladate (II) [PdCl4]2-.
The title salt, C(5)H(6)N(+)·C(7)H(4)F(3)O(3)S(-), is an ion pair in which the pyridium cation is linked to the 4-(trifluoro-meth-yl)benzene-sulfonate anion by an N-H⋯O hydrogen bond. The F atoms of the trifluoro-methyl group are disordered over two sites in a 0.584 (9):0.416 (9) ratio.
In the title compound, C(8)H(10)NO(2) (+)·NO(3) (-), the cation is essentially planar with C-O-C-C and C-O-C-O torsion angles of -178.1 (2) and 2.1 (4)°, respectively. In the crystal, N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen-bond inter-actions stabilize the structure.
In the title compound, C(11)H(11)N(2)O(2)S(+)·NO(3) (-), the dihedral angle between the benzene and pyridinium rings is 87.59 (8)°. An intra-molecular C-H⋯O inter-action occurs in the cation. In the crystal structure, ion pairs occur, being linked by two strong N-H⋯O inter-actions, forming R(2) (2)(8) loops. The packing is further stabilized by weak C-H⋯O inter-actions.
