We have significant accomplishments on uncertainty quantification in inverse problems for dynamical systems, generalized sensitivity and optimal design of experiments, elasticity and viscoelasticity modeling for buried target detection, and general inverse problem methodology for proliferating populations. Our efforts have continued on development of efficient accurate integration of Fokker Pla...

We study time-delayed stochastic systems that can be described by means of so-called delay Fokker-Planck equations. Using Novikov's theorem, we first show that the theory of delay Fokker-Planck equations is on an equal footing with the theory of ordinary Fokker-Planck equations. Subsequently, we derive stationary distributions in the case of small time delays. In the case of additive noise syst...

Einstein's theory of general relativity contains a universal value of the Planck mass. However, one may envisage that in alternative theories of gravity the effective value of the Planck mass (or Newton's constant), which quantifies the coupling of matter to metric perturbations, can run on the cosmological-horizon scale. In this Letter, we study the consequences of a glitch in the Planck mass ...

One cannot avoid the need for low-energy supersymmetry by invoking a fundamental Planck scale M ∼ TeV, because the inflaton mass during inflation then has to satisfy m/M ≪ 10. Supersymmetry should be invoked to stabilize this mass, just as it is invoked to stabilize the Higgs mass in the case that the fundamental Planck mass is MP. This observation removes the only reason for thinking that Natu...

We simulate Planck observations by adopting a detailed model of the microwave sky including monopole, dipole, anisotropies of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) and galactic and extragalactic foregrounds. We estimate the impact of main beam optical aberrations on CMB anisotropy measurements in presence of extragalactic source fluctuations and we discuss the main implications for the Planck t...

A discussion is given of the uncertainty principle in view of the introduction of a Gravitational Planck Constant. The need for such a gravitational constant is shown first. A reduced electromagnetic Planck constant and the analogous reduced gravitational Planck constant are defined as h/e and H/m respectively. An attempt is made to reconcile the quantum uncertainty concepts with a deterministi...

We assume that space-time at the Planck scale is discrete, quantised in Planck units and "qubitsed" (each pixel of Planck area encodes one qubit), that is, quantum spacetime can be viewed as a quantum computer. Within this model, one finds that quantum space-time itself is entangled, and can quantum-evaluate Boolean functions which are the laws of Physics in their discrete and fundamental form.
