The low conversion efficiency of solar cells produces large amounts of thermal energy to the cells, and with an increase in the temperature of solar cells, their electrical efficiency decreases. Therefore, a hybrid photovoltaic thermal system improves the overall efficiency of the system by adding thermal equipment to the solar cell and removing excessive heat from these cells. In this paper, w...

In conventional power plants trash-racks are provided at the intakes to protect the turbines. In pumped storage plants, the draft tube or tailrace must also have trash-racks to protect the units while pumping. Because the loads believed to cause many failures of trash-racks are dynamic in nature, it is important to understand the dynamic characteristics of trash-rack structures in general and a...

In the past years, lamella settlers have been used as devices for treatment by sedimentation also for storm water. Instead of just equipping a sedimentation basin with numerous lamella modules, an innovative approach for traditional separate systems is proposed. Basically, storm water is stored in a basin or tank during a rain event, while treatment is done in a small but continuously operated ...

The Southern Ocean (SO) is a crucial region for the global ocean uptake of heat and carbon. There are large uncertainties in observations fluxes carbon between atmosphere mixed layer, which lead to amount entering into overturning circulation. In order better understand where when momentum have largest impact on near-surface content, we use an adjoint model calculate linear sensitivities conten...

We consider in this paper a scheduling problem given by n tasks of same processing time d, an out-tree, communication delays all equal to c d and an integer t. The problem is to nd the minimum volume of a feasible schedule with makespan t. Studying the dominance properties of such schedules, we prove that this problem is polynomial using a dynamic programming algorithm.

[1] Starting soon after the 1997 eruption at Okmok volcano and continuing until the start of the 2008 eruption, magma accumulated in a storage zone centered ∼3.5 km beneath the caldera floor at a rate that varied with time. A Mogi‐type point pressure source or finite sphere with a radius of 1 km provides an adequate fit to the deformation field portrayed in time‐sequential interferometric synth...

Homogeneous data in radiological image databases consumes an extraordinary amount of storage space. An example of this is the multiple voxels representing different cross sections of a body part being imaged, which are referred to as volumetric data sets. Lossless compression algorithms are imperative for efficient storage and transmission of volumetric data sets. This paper presents a diagnost...

introduction: ubiquicidin (ubi) 29-41 is a synthetic antimicrobial peptide that binds with the microbial cell membrane at the location of infection. this study was conducted to evaluate its probable efficacy as an infection-imaging agent with potential to differentiate bacterial infection from sterile inflammation in humans. methods: fifteen diabetic foot patients (10 males and 5 females) with...

This paper deals with the emulation of atomic read/write (R/W) storage in dynamic asynchronous mes-sage passing systems. In static settings, it is well known that atomic R/W storage can be implemented in afault-tolerant manner even if the system is completely asynchronous, whereas consensus is not solvable. In contrast, all existing emulations of atomic storage in dynamic systems rel...
