We report on an all-optical AND-gate using simultaneous Four-Wave Mixing (FWM) and Cross-Gain Modulation (XGM) in a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA). The operation of the proposed AND gate is simulated and the results demonstrate its effectiveness. This AND gate could provide a new possibility for all-optical computing and all-optical routing in future all-optical networks. In an AND ( AB ...

Transversality is a simple and effective method for implementing quantum computation faulttolerantly. However, no quantum error-correcting code (QECC) can transversally implement a quantum universal gate set (Eastin and Knill, Phys. Rev. Lett., 102, 110502). Since reversible classical computation is often a dominating part of useful quantum computation, whether or not it can be implemented tran...

Low power design has become one of the primary focuses in both analogue and digital VLSI circuits. Many power consumption techniques have come in existence and with that the low power design is also achieved by scaling supply voltage, considering sub-threshold region in this region thereby obtaining a minimum energy consumption which also suits for low operating frequencies. In this paper propo...

In Semiconductor industry has witnessed and explosive growth of integration of sophisticated multimedia base application onto mobile electronic gadget since the last decade. The critical concern in this aspect is to reduce the power consumption beyond a certain range of operating frequency. An important factor in the design of VLSI circuits is the choices of reversible logic. Basically conventi...

A universal quantum gate is introduced for tensors of vector spaces. By using integer powers of such a gate and by using classical reversible gates one can approximate any element of the unitary group to any accuracy needed. The proof uses a version of Kronecker's theory and the structure of the Bloch sphere for tensors.

Reversible logic is playing a significant role in quantum computing as quantum operations are unitary in nature. Quantum computer performs computation at an atomic level; thereby doing high performance computations beyond the limits of the conventional computing systems. Reversible arithmetic units such as adders, subtractors, multipliers form the essential component of a quantum computing syst...

Layered gallium telluride (GaTe) has attracted much attention recently, due to its extremely high photoresponsivity, short response time, and promising thermoelectric performance. Different from most commonly studied two-dimensional (2D) materials, GaTe has in-plane anisotropy and a low symmetry with the C2h(3) space group. Investigating the in-plane optical anisotropy, including the electron-p...

A novel Parity-Preserving Reversible Gate (PPRG) is developed using Quantum-dot Cellular Automata (QCA) technology. PPRG enables rich fault-tolerance features, as well as reversibility attributes sought for energy-neutral computation. Performance of the PPRG design is validated through implementing thirteen standard combinational Boolean functions of three variables, which demonstrate from 10.7...
