A facile hydrogenation-induced self-assembly strategy to synthesize lithium hydride (LiH) nanosheets with a thickness of 2 nm that are uniformly distributed on graphene is reported and designed. Taking advantage of LiH nanosheets with high reactivity and a homogeneous distribution on graphene support as a nanoreactor, the confined chemical synthesis of oxygen-free lithiated composites is effect...

BiOI nanosheets are easily synthesized by direct thermal treatment of commercial BiI3 powder, serving as a novel anode material for lithium-ion batteries. A high volumetric capacity of ∼5678 mA h cm(-3) was achieved. This work demonstrates that the BiOI nanosheets hold great promise as high-energy anode material for lithium-ion batteries.

Growth of silicalite with graphene oxide (GO) nanosheets occurred via attachment of GO onto the silicalite surface, and entrapment of GO nanosheets inside single crystals. Electrically conductive composites were produced by calcination in nitrogen whereas silicalite crystals with slit-like mesopores of sizes 20-25 Å were obtained after GO burn-off.

Spontaneous exfoliation of MoS2 is achieved in H2O2-NMP mixed solvents with a yield of over 60 wt%, operated under mild conditions. H2O2-prompted sheet-tailoring effect induces a size evolution of MoS2 nanosheets from micro-scale to nano-scale. Furthermore, the concurrent dissolution also affords an approach to introduce structural defects in the nanosheets.

In this work, the performance of graphene nanosheets (GNs) and graphene oxide (GO) nanosheets, as a support for palladium nanoparticles (PdNPs) toward oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), was studied. The graphene nanosheets were functionalized by a new and simple method. The PdNPs were synthesized on a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) modified with GNs or GO via a potentiostatic method; without using...

Ultrathin hexagonal SnS(2) nanosheets are synthesized via a simple hydrothermal reaction. The nanosheets have been applied as an anode for lithium-ion battery, which shows highly reversible capacity and good cycling stability with excellent capacity retention of 96% after 50 cycles.

In this communication, we, for the first time, prepared phosphorus-doped cobalt disulfide nanosheets as highly advanced electrocatalysts for the hydrogen evolution reaction. It was demonstrated that P doping could significantly enhance the electrocatalytic performance of CoS2 nanosheets in terms of onset overpotential, Tafel slope, exchange current density, and stability.

Few-layered boron carbon nitride nanosheets are synthesized by a simple and environmentally friendly process. The BCN nanosheets have 2-6 atomic layers with high surface area and show enhanced storage performance in lithium batteries, as well as a stable capacity of ~100 mA h g(-1) at 2 A g(-1) for 5000 cycles.

We present a one-step synthesis process for ultrathin non-crystalline MnO2 nanosheets. Their thickness is about 2 nm and the width varies from 5 to 20 nm. They induce a higher capacitance than zero-dimensional spheres or one-dimensional rods. When heat treated at elevated temperature MnO2 nanosheets partly grow into crystalline Mn2O3 rods.

Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs) have been extensively investigated for solar energy conversion by using various combinations of inorganic semiconductors and organic sensitizers because of their low cost, easy production, and high efficiency. For efficient visible-light absorption, various organic dyes have been intensively exploited because of their advantages, such as their high molar extinc...
