The case of sources that generate multidimensional signals, filling a subspace of dimensionality K, is considered. Different coordinate axes of the subspace (“subspace channels”) correspond to different signal portions generated by each source, e.g., data from different spectral bands or different modalities may be assigned to different subspace channels. The mixing system that generates observ...
The standard SU(2)t 8 U(l) gauge model' can accommodate all the present electroweak data. The recent discovery of the weak gauge bosons at CERN, with average masses M~= 80.9+ 2.0 GCV and Mz = 93.0+ 2.0 GCV, confirmed the validity of the standard model at low energies. These masses, in conjunction with the extrapolated and corrected value of the weak mixing angle, sin 0 = 0.217 + 0.014, and with...
Deviations from standard electroweak physics arise in the framework of a Randall-Sundrum model, with matter and gauge fields in the bulk and the Higgs field localized on the TeV brane. We focus in particular on modifications associated with the weak mixing angle. Comparison with the electroweak precision data yields a rather stringent lower bound of about 10 TeV on the masses of the lowest Kalu...
Cuspy triaxial potentials admit a large number of chaotic orbits, which moreover exhibit extreme “stickiness” that makes the process of chaotic mixing surprisingly inefficient. Environmental effects, modeled as noise and/or periodic driving, help accelerate phase space transport but probably not as much as in simpler potentials. This could mean that cuspy triaxial ellipticals cannot exist as ti...
We discuss Dirac neutrino masses and mixings in a scenario where both the standard model fermions and right handed neutrinos are bulk fields in a nonfactorizable geometry in five dimensions. We show how the atmospheric the solar neutrino anomalies can be satisfactorily resolved, and in particular how bimaximal mixing is realized. We also consider rare processes such as neutronantineutron oscill...
The present status of higher-order results in the electroweak theory is summarised, with particular emphasis on recent two-loop results for the prediction of the W-boson mass in the Standard Model and leading three-loop corrections to the rho parameter. The remaining theoretical uncertainties in the prediction for the W-boson mass and the effective weak mixing angle are discussed. PACS. 12.15.L...
We show that the billiard in a regular polygon is weak mixing in almost every invariant surface, except in the trivial cases which give rise to lattices in the plane (triangle, square and hexagon). More generally, we study the problem of prevalence of weak mixing for the directional flow in an arbitrary non-arithmetic Veech surface, and show that the Hausdorff dimension of the set of non-weak m...

We report our measurement of the weak mixing angle, sin 2 W , in neutrino{nucleon deep inelastic scattering in the NuTeV experiment at Fermilab. Using separate neutrino and anti-neutrino beams we are able to use the Paschos-Wolfenstein relations to extract sin 2 W with low systematic errors. Our preliminary result is sin 2 W (on?shell) 1 ? m 2 W =m 2 Z = 0:22530:0019(stat)0:0010(syst), which in...
Every ergodic transformation (X, 7, :~,/z) has an isomorphic system (Y, U, ~, v) which is uniquely ergodic and topologically mixing.
