In this paper the problem of dynamic selfreconfiguration of a class of modular robotic systems referred to as metamorphic systems is examined. A metamorphic robotic system is a collection of mechatronic modules, each of which has the ability to connect, disconnect, and climb over adjacent modules. We examine the near-optimal reconfiguration of a metamorphic robot from an arbitrary initial confi...

We have studied the syn-kinematic very low-grade metamorphism in a polyphase Variscan deformed region using X-ray diffraction techniques. Two phases of regional metamorphism are related to their respective episodes of penetrative deformation in the southern Central Iberian Zone. The data obtained suggest that the rocks did not reach metamorphic equilibrium, but strain favoured the progress of m...

Vertebrate pigment cells are derived from neural crest cells and are a useful system for studying neural crest-derived traits during post-embryonic development. In zebrafish, neural crest-derived melanophores differentiate during embryogenesis to produce stripes in the early larva. Dramatic changes to the pigment pattern occur subsequently during the larva-to-adult transformation, or metamorpho...

comparison between our approach and commercial virus scanners. I would also like to thank my friends and schoolmates for their technical and emotional support. I want to thank Yue Wang for performing the virus scanning, and Peter Hey for repairing my hard disk after it crashed at the most critical moment. Finally I want to thank my family for their understanding and support throughout my five y...

We present for the first time an un-buffered WBand oscillator on a Metamorphic HEMT GaAs substrate. The oscillator has an output power of +1.5 dBm and a phase noise of -101 dBc/Hz at a 1 MHz offset. This oscillator will be part of an integrated monolithic front end. Index Terms – Metamorphic HEMT, HEMT, Oscillator, millimeter wave, front end.
