A melody recognition system with a voice-only user interface is presented in this paper. By integrating speech recognition and melody recognition technology we have built an end-to-end melody retrieval system that allows a users to do voice controlled melodic queries and melody generation using a dial-in service with a mobile phone.

At the present, energy aware routing is one of the most important research topics in wireless sensor networks. Increasing network lifetime is the most challenging need in these networks. In this study, in order to increase network lifetime, we aim to introduce a harmony search algorithm as a successful meta-heuristic algorithm for routing in the wireless sensor networks. In customizing the algo...

this paper studies the hybrid flow shop scheduling where the optimization criterion is the minimization of total tardiness. first, the problem is formulated as a mixed integer linear programming model. then, to solve large problem sizes, an artificial immune algorithm hybridized with a simple local search in form of simulated annealing is proposed. two experiments are carried out to evaluate th...

the capacitated vehicle routing problem (cvrp) is a well-known combinatorial optimization problem that holds a central place in logistics management. the vehicle routing is an applied task in the industrial transportation for which an optimal solution will lead us to better services, save more time and ultimately increase in customer satisfaction. this problem is classified into np-hard problem...

the traveling salesman problem (tsp) is the problem of finding the shortest tour through all the nodes that a salesman has to visit. the tsp is probably the most famous and extensively studied problem in the field of combinatorial optimization. because this problem is an np-hard problem, practical large-scale instances cannot be solved by exact algorithms within acceptable computational times. ...

For many years, cryptanalysis has been considered as an attractive topic in jeopardizing the security and resistance of an encryption algorithm. The SDES encryption algorithm is a symmetric cryptography algorithm that performs a cryptographic operation using a crypt key. In the world of encryption, there are many search algorithms to cryptanalysis. In these researches, brute force attack algori...

Abstract: One of the equipment that can help improve distribution system status today and reduce the cost of fault time is remote control switches (RCS). Finding the optimal location and number of these switches in the distribution system can be modeled with various objective functions as a nonlinear optimization problem to improve system reliability and cost. In this article, a particle swarm ...

Systems able to find a song based on a sung, hummed, or whistled melody are called Query-By-Humming (QBH) systems. Hummed or sung queries are not directly compared to original recordings. Instead, systems employ search keys that are more similar to a cappella singing than the original pieces. Successful, deployed systems use human computation to create search keys: hand-entered midi melodies or...

Music information retrieval is a field of rapidly growing commercial interest. This paper describes TANSEN, a query-by-humming based music retrieval system under development at IIT, Bombay. Named after the legendary musician (and a tenuous acronym for “TA-Note Song ExtractorNavigator), the system is designed to accept acoustic queries in the form of sung fragments, to search a database of India...
