The transactional interpretation of quantum mechanics (TI) is summarized and various points concerning the TI and its relation to the Copenhagen interpretation (CI) are considered. Questions concerning mapping the TI onto the CI, of advanced waves as solutions to proper wave equations, of collapse and the QM formalism, and of the relation of quantum mechanical interpretations to experimental te...

Ultrasound is a form of mechanical energy with its acoustic pressure wave at frequencies range from 20 to 20,000 Hz. To date, ultrasound waves are not only used in imaging medicine for diagnosis, but also are performed in physical therapy (PT) medicine for the purpose of preventing and curing disease due to its thermal and nonthermal effects, and the ultrasound frequencies used in

Cosmological perturbations generated quantum-mechanically (as a particular case, during inflation) possess statistical properties of squeezed quantum states. The power spectra of the perturbations are modulated and the angular distribution of the produced temperature fluctuations of the CMBR is quite specific. An exact formula is derived for the angular correlation function of the temperature f...

The responses of the Ross Ice Shelf (RIS) to the 16 September 2015 8.3 (Mw) Chilean earthquake tsunami (>75 s period) and to oceanic infragravity (IG) waves (50–300 s period) were recorded by a broadband seismic array deployed on the RIS from November 2014 to November 2016. Here we show that tsunami and IG-generated signals within the RIS propagate at gravity wave speeds ( 70 m/s) as water-ice ...

We propose a method for analyzing both theoretically and experimentally the behavior of the phase of the waves diffracted by gratings. The method is applied to the study of resonance phenomena. It is used for determining the optogeometrical parameters of a metallic grating. We show that the experimental setup, which is insensitive to mechanical drifts or thermal fluctuations, can be used for se...

Quantum mechanical interference of wave functions leads to some difficulties if a probability density is considered as a source of gravity. We show that an introduction of a quantum energy-momentum tensor as a source term in Einstein equations can be consistent with general relativity if the gravitational waves are quantized. We propose different concepts of mechanically reconfigurable true-time-delay phase shifters using micro-actuators at millimeter-waves (MMW). The mechanical reconfiguration allows to achieve phase shift reconfiguration with very low losses. One of the proposed concepts has been fully implemented and tested, demonstrating state-of-the-art performance in terms of phase-shift/loss ratio.
