Magnetic Soft Robots In article number 2201813, Venkatsubramanian Kalpathy Venkiteswaran and co-workers develop a biocompatible soft polymer film for coating the outer surface of robot which can be controlled using magnetic fields. The Chitosan-Glycerol endows with ability locomotion on confined 3D surfaces through formation hydrogen bonds mucus-covered biological surfaces.

several mri contrast agents (cas) are used in medical diagnosis that gadolinium (gd3+) is the most widely used as contrast agents. unfortunately, its toxicity is due to its inefficiency. in this review, we discuss about the ability of spions in mri and application in multiple sclerosis diagnosis. superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (spions) such as magnetite nanoparticles are used as goo...

in this research, the magnetite nanoparticles (fe304) were prepared by coprecipitation of fe3+ andfe solution in alkaline medium. two kinds of surfactants, cetyl tri methyl ammonium bromide(ctab) and cetyl pyridinum chloride (cpc) were used in the synthesis. fe304 nanoparticles werecoated with human serum albumin (hsa) and bovine serum albumin (bsa). characteristics ofcoated magnetic nanopartic...

This paper presents a luminescence oxygen sensor for retinalhypoxia monitoring. The sensor coats a wirelessly controlled magnetic microrobot that will operate in the human eye. The coating embodies Pt(II) octaethylporphine (PtOEP) dyes as the luminescence material and polystyrene as a supporting matrix. It is deposited on the microrobot as a thin film and this film is experimentally evaluated u...

Different supports for high-performance liquid chromatography are prepared by using the coating technology. These supports are based on silica beads coated with a beta-cyclodextrin-containing poly(vinylamine). Surface area, pore size distribution, and solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance are used for the characterization of these supports. The two different methods of preparation used lead to...

We present a finite-element analysis of a diffraction problem involving a coated cylinder enabling the electromagnetic cloaking of a lossy object with sharp wedges located within its core. The coating consists of a heterogeneous anisotropic material deduced from a geometrical transformation as first proposed by Pendry [Science 312, 1780 (2006)]. We analyze the electromagnetic response of the cl...

We review recent experiments that have revealed mechanical properties of single DNA molecules using advanced manipulation and force sensing techniques(scanning force microscopy (SFM), optical or magnetic tweezers, microneedles). From such measurements, intrinsic relevant parameters (persistence length, stretch modulus) as well as their dependence on external parameters (non-physiological condit...

Iron oxide nanoparticles are used for contrast enhancement in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). We have prepared gold-coated iron oxide nanoparticles that show no change in their superparamagnetic behavior as a consequence of coating. Their potential use as MRI contrast agents was investigated by monitoring their T2 relaxation time with concentration. Cytotoxicity of these nanoparticles was als...

A new facile coating strategy based on the hydrophobicity of methyl groups was developed to prevent nano-sized magnetite particles from strong acid corrosion. In this method, three steps of hydrolysis led to three layers of protection shell coating Fe3O4 nanoparticles. Filled with hydrophobic methyl groups, the middle layer mainly prevented the magnetic core from strong acid corrosion. These ma...
