High-quality N-doped graphene quantum sheets are successfully fabricated from as-grown monolayer graphene on Cu using nitrogen plasma, which can be transferred as a film-like layer or easily dispersed in an organic solvent for further optoelectronic or photoelectrochemical applications.

Stable high-concentration suspensions (up to 0.95 mg mL(-1)) of non-oxidized few layer graphene (FLG), five or less sheets, with micrometre-long edges were obtained via direct exfoliation of natural graphite flakes in ionic liquids, such as 1-butyl-3-methyl-imidazolium bis(trifluoro-methane-sulfonyl)imide ([Bmim]-[Tf(2)N]), by tip ultrasonication.

The transfer of chemical vapor deposition (CVD)-grown graphene is the prerequisite for many applications. Herein, we introduce a simple and eco-friendly electrochemical technique to transfer graphene using agarose gel as the solid electrolyte and a mechanical support layer for graphene sheets. This transfer technique will be a perfect candidate for the industrial applications of graphene.

Graphene has unique characteristics that are appealing for energy-related applications such as ultra-lightweight and high surface-area/electrical-conductivity. However, generating functional graphene sheets is still a very challenging task. Here, novel approach based on an original bipolar electrochemistry set-up, using quasi-2D reaction layer, suggested, which allows precise control of dispers...

8 Abstract Graphene is a material with extraordinary properties. Its mechanical and electrical properties are unparalleled but the difficulties in its production are hindering its breakthrough in on applications. Graphene is a two-dimensional material made entirely of carbon atoms and it is only a single atom thick. In this work, properties of graphene and graphene based materials are described...

OBJECTIVE In cardiovascular tissue engineering, three-dimensional scaffolds serve as physical supports and templates for cell attachment and tissue development. Currently used scaffolds are still far from ideal, they are potentially immunogenic and they show toxic degradation and inflammatory reactions. The aim of this study is to develop a new method for a three-dimensional completely autologo...

Electrophoretic deposition (EPD) is a conventional method for fabricating film materials from nanometer-sized building blocks, and exhibits the advantages of low-cost, high-efficiency, wide-range thickness adjustment, and uniform deposition. Inspired by the interest in the application of two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterials, the EPD technique has been recently extended to building blocks with 2D ...

In this paper, we demonstrated the utilization of reduced graphene oxide (RGO) Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films as high performance hole injection layer in organic light-emitting diode (OLED). By using LB technique, the well-ordered and thickness-controlled RGO sheets are incorporated between the organic active layer and the transparent conducting indium tin oxide (ITO), leading to an increase of r...

This paper presents the thermal vibration analysis of double-layer graphene sheet embedded in polymer elastic medium, using the plate theory and nonlocal continuum mechanics for small scale effects. The graphene is modeled based on continuum plate theory and the axial stress caused by the thermal effects is also considered. Nonlocal governing equations of motion for this double-layer graphene s...

This work aims to increase the interface between anode and electrolyte in solid oxide fuel cells by controlling 3D microstructure with a commercial ink-jet printer. Anode inks suitable for use printer were prepared altering viscosity droplet size. A porous structure that ensures flow path gases was achieved addition of acrylic particles into ink. dense prevents leakage created. The layers produ...
