Permanent magnet machines, particularly at low power range, are widely used in the industry because of their high efficiency. They have gained popularity in variable frequency drive applications. The merits of the machine are elimination of field copper loss, higher power density, lower rotor inertia and a robust construction of the rotor (Bose 2002). In order to find effective ways of designin...

Input{output linearization is a method that uses nonlinear state feedback control to obtain linear equations between the input and output of a nonlinear control system. Its success depends crucially on the ability of the control to steer the state across the level sets of the output function. It is clear that this is essentially a global geometrical problem. In this work, we present a lineariza...

HVDC-Light has the advantages of flexible operating ways and reliability, especially in the transmission problem of offshore wind power. But it needs many PI controllers in the two converters (wind farm side, grid side). So there are many parameters need to be set which is difficult. This paper adopted the control mode that the outside loop controlled the voltage and the inside loop controlled ...

The problem of stabilization and trajectory tracking of feedback linearizable systems in the presence of input saturation is considered in this paper. The need to perform output tracking for nonlinear systems dictates the choice of feedback linearization in our control design. Explicit characterization of the space of feasible trajectories that can be tracked using bounded inputs is provided.

In this paper, a comparative analysis of three multi-loops control schemes dedicated to the single ended primary inductance converter (SEPIC) power factor corrector (PFC) is presented. The first control technique uses a robust hysteresis current controller; the second control strategy consists of a frequency–domain linear design of regulators on the basis of a small-signal averaged model of the...

This paper presents an approach to design a nonlinear controller for a pneumatic cylinder system for which the connection port comprises a non-negligible restriction. The pressure chamber of this system is difficult to control because the servo valve and the connection port form a double restriction. This double restriction causes a singularity in the feedback linearization controller. To avoid...

The articulated dump truck is a widespread transport vehicle for narrow rough terrain environment. To achieve the autonomous driving in the underground tunnel, this article proposes a path following strategy -for articulated vehicle based on feedback linearization algorithm. First of all, the kinematic model of articulated vehicle, which reflects the relationship between the structure parameter...

Designing a robust tracking control for a non-linear MIMO system with uncertainty is one of the most complicated control problems. In this paper, sliding mode changed to non-linear controllable canonical form by input-output linearization. This, sliding surfaces can be defined in a way that we can de-couple equations and indicate the sliding conditions of multi-variable controller system. The u...

This is the second part of a paper, divided in two parts, dealing with the application of the input–output feedback linearization (FL) control technique to linear induction motors (LIMs). The first part has treated the theoretical formulation of the input–output feedback linearization control technique as to be applied to linear induction motors. This second part describes the set of tests, bot...

This paper considers the position tracking problem of a voltage-controlled magnetic levitation system. It is well known that the control problem is quite complicated and challenging due to inherent nonlinearities associated with the electromechanical dynamics. And feedback linearization approach via coordinate transformation is considered to be a useful candidate to tackle the control problem. ...
