Mediastinal glomus tumors are rarely recognized, and only seven cases have been reported in the literature. Here, we describe a rare mediastinal glomus tumor and review the characteristics of this rare clinical case. The patient was a 50-year-old female who presented with coughing for 3 months. Her chest computed tomography scan demonstrated a localized tumor in the posterior superior mediastin...
Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) are common and important plant symbionts. They have coenocytic hyphae and form multinucleated spores. The nuclear genome of AMF is polymorphic and its organization is not well understood, which makes the development of reliable molecular markers challenging. In stark contrast, their mitochondrial genome (mtDNA) is homogeneous. To assess the intra- and inter-sp...
BACKGROUND Glomus tumors were first described by Wood in 1812 as painful subcutaneous tubercles. It is an uncommon benign neoplasm involving the glomus body, an apparatus that involves in thermoregulation of cutaneous microvasculature. Glomus tumor constitutes 1%-5% of all hand tumors. It usually occurs at the subungual region and more commonly in aged women. Its classical clinical triad consis...
Glomus tumors are neoplasms arising from the glomus body, which regulate skin temperature. They mostly benign and present in subungual area of a distal phalanx. However, they can occur extradigital location, may not be typical intradigital tumors. This makes it difficult to diagnose We report volar tumor mimicking painful ganglion with literature review.

The Hidden Cost of Untreated Paragangliomas of the Head and Neck: Systemic Reactive (AA) Amyloidosis
We report a case of a 51-year-old man who was diagnosed with systemic reactive (AA) amyloidosis in association with untreated glomus jugulare and glomus caroticum tumors. He refused radiotherapy and renal replacement therapy. Paragangliomas, although rare, should be considered one of the tumors that can result in AA amyloidosis.
Glomus tumors are uncommon benign perivascular neoplasms that have rarely been described outside of their usual peripheral soft tissue sites. We report a unique case of glomus tumor of the renal pelvis in a 53-year-old woman who presented with microscopic hematuria associated with obstruction of the ureteropelvic junction and marked hydronephrosis. At initial gross examination, the tumor mimick...
BACKGROUND/AIMS Gastric glomus tumors are extremely rare, and presurgical confirmation is often impossible. The identification of clinical and radiologic characteristics of this tumor type is important for preoperative diagnosis and treatment planning. METHODS In this study, we analyzed 10 cases of gastric glomus tumors resected at a single institute over 9 years. RESULTS Eight of the patie...
