In this paper, Exp-function and (G′/G)expansion methods are presented to derive traveling wave solutions for a class of nonlinear space-time fractional differential equations. As a results, some new exact traveling wave solutions are obtained.

Adaptive confidence intervals for regression functions are constructed under shape constraints of monotonicity and convexity. A natural benchmark is established for the minimum expected length of confidence intervals at a given function in terms of an analytic quantity, the local modulus of continuity. This bound depends not only on the function but also the assumed function class. These benchm...

let x be a random variable from a normal distribution with unknown mean θ and known variance σ2. in many practical situations, θ is known in advance to lie in an interval, say [−m,m], for some m > 0. as the usual estimator of θ, i.e., x under the linex loss function is inadmissible, finding some competitors for x becomes worthwhile. the only study in the literature considered the problem of min...

In Bayesian decision theory, it is known that robustness with respect to the loss and the prior can be improved by adding new observations. In this article we study the rate of robustness improvement with respect to the number of observations n. Three usual measures of posterior global robustness are considered: the (range of the) Bayes actions set derived from a class of loss functions, the ma...

One-class classification naturally only provides one-class of exemplars, the target class, from which to construct the classification model. The one-class approach is constructed from artificial data combined with the known in-class exemplars. A multi-objective fitness function in combination with a local membership function is then used to encourage a co-operative coevolutionary decomposition ...

This paper considers the class of discrete distributions for which the distribution function is a log-concave sequence. It is shown that such distributions arise from a wide variety of circumstances in Reliability, and that these have a decreasing reversed hazard rate. After examining the closures of the class under certain key operations, sharp upper and lower bounds on the reliability functio...

We study a multi-class stochastic processing network operating under the so-called proportional fair allocation scheme, and following the head-of-the-line processor sharing discipline. Specifically, each server’s capacity is shared among the job classes that require its service; and allocated, in every state of the network, among the first waiting job of each class to maximize a log-utility fun...
