Abstract The graphical description of morphisms in rigid monoidal categories, in particular in ribbon categories, is summarized. It is illustrated with various examples of algebraic structures in such categories, like algebras, (weak) bi-algebras, Frobenius algebras, and modules and bimodules. Nakayama automorphisms of Frobenius algebras are introduced; they are inner iff the algebra is symmetric.

It is shown that if the ring of constants of a restricted differential Lie algebra with a quasi-Frobenius inner part satisfies a polynomial identity (PI) then the original prime ring has a generalized polynomial identity (GPI). If additionally the ring of constants is semiprime then the original ring is PI. The case of a non-quasi-Frobenius inner part is also considered.

We apply the spectral curve topological recursion to Dubrovin’s universal Landau-Ginzburg superpotential associated to a semi-simple point of any conformal Frobenius manifold. We show that under some conditions the expansion of the correlation differentials reproduces the cohomological field theory associated with the same point of the initial Frobenius manifold.

S. Montgomery and S. Witherspoon proved that upper and lower semisolvable, semisimple, finite dimensional Hopf algebras are of Frobenius type when their dimensions are not divisible by the characteristic of the base field. In this note we show that a finite dimensional, semisimple, lower solvable Hopf algebra is always of Frobenius type, in arbitrary characteristic.

In this paper, we characterize those numerical semigroups containing 〈n1, n2〉. From this characterization, we give formulas for the genus and the Frobenius number of a numerical semigroup. These results can be used to give a method for computing the genus and the Frobenius number of a numerical semigroup with embedding dimension three in terms of its minimal system of generators.
