The Wavelet Polarization Signature (WASP) is a recently introduced formalism for analyzing the dependences of texture measures, in SAR imagery, afforded by wavelet frames on scale and polarization state. Based on a previously published theoretical approach, two experiments are reported where wavelet WASP analysis is applied to SAR observations of natural targets, both in the land and marine dom...

In order to have fault identification for the gate rotor shaft with multiple cracks effectively, the quantity identification method of the gate rotor shaft with multiple cracks based on wavelet finite element method is established and the frequency test of the gate rotor shaft based on blind source separation algorithm is analyzed. Firstly the wavelet finite element was established by combining...

There have been great interests in developing efficient video compression techniques due to the increased multimedia applications in today’s era of digital technology. In this paper, we present a technique for lossless video sequence compression using predictive coding as a method to improve the compression efficiency. The proposed algorithm is an adaptive method that switches between predictio...

There are few works on the problem of heavy noise corruption in wavelet-based speech enhancement. In this paper, a new method is introduced to adapt the weighting function for wavelet coefficients (WCs) in each subband. The idea is based on that the variance of WCs in speech-dominated frames is larger than the variance of WCs in noise-dominated frames. We can define a weighting function for WCs...

In this paper we introduce and study Besselian $g$-frames. We show that the kernel of associated synthesis operator for a Besselian $g$-frame is finite dimensional. We also introduce $alpha$-dual of a $g$-frame and we get some results when we use the Hilbert-Schmidt norm for the members of a $g$-frame in a finite dimensional Hilbert space.

Abstract. The time-frequency analysis of a signal is often performed via a series expansion arising from well-localized building blocks. Typically, the building blocks are based on frames having either Gabor or wavelet structure. In order to calculate the coefficients in the series expansion, a dual frame is needed. The purpose of the present paper is to provide constructions of dual pairs of f...

We consider frames arising from the action of a unitary representation of a discrete countable abelian group. We show that the range of the analysis operator can be determined by computing which characters appear in the representation. This allows one to compare the ranges of two such frames, which is useful for determining similarity and also for multiplexing schemes. Our results then partiall...

We introduce a novel speckle noise reduction algorithm for OCT images. Contrary to present approaches, the algorithm does not rely on simple averaging of multiple image frames or denoising on the final averaged image. Instead it uses wavelet decompositions of the single frames for a local noise and structure estimation. Based on this analysis, the wavelet detail coefficients are weighted, avera...

There are few works on the problem of heavy noise corruption in wavelet-based speech enhancement. In this paper, a new method is introduced to adapt the weighting function for wavelet coefficients (WCs) in each subband. The idea is based on that the change of WC variance in speech-dominated frames is larger than the change of WC variance in noisedominated frames. We can define a weighting funct...

Reduced web section beams in shear-yielding moment-resistant steel frames are used for energy dissipating of earthquakes. The finite element analysis indicates that failure mode of these beams are governed by the combination of shear force and flexural moment. Therefore the analysis of frames with reduced web section beams needs consideration of shear-flexural interaction in those sections. In ...
