In a preceeding paper [1] we proved that a variation of the well-known Bitter technique accord ing to Hutchinson [2] is appropriate to study trans formations in which a ferromagnetic component comes into existence. We were able to show the possibility how to apply this technique on the analysis of metal-hydrogen systems, especially of those with the ferromagnetic component nickel. In the case...
Monte Carlo simulations have been used to study the Z 6 ferromagnet in a random field on simple cubic lattices, which is a simple model for randomly pinned charge-density waves. The random field is chosen to have infinite strength and random direction on a fraction x of the sites of the lattice, and to be zero on the remaining sites. For x= 1/16 there are two phase transitions. At low temperatu...
Polypropylene grafted maleic anhydride (PP-MA, 2500 g mole(-1)) has demonstrated its unique capability to synthesize 1-D ferromagnetic hard (292.7 Oe) γ-Fe2O3 nanochains made of ~24 nm nanoparticles vs. PP-MA with 8000 g mole(-1) for the synthesis of 1-D ferromagnetic soft (70.5 Oe) γ-Fe2O3 nanochains (30 nm) made of flowerlike nanoparticles.
Periodic boundary conditions are applied to a ferromagnetic spin lattice. A symmetrical lattice and its contributions all over space are being used. Results, for the Ising model with ferromagnetic interaction that decays as a 1/r law, are discussed in the mean field approximation.
We study XXX Heisenberg spin 1/2 anti-ferromagnet. We evaluate a probability of formation of a ferromagnetic string in the anti-ferromagnetic ground state in thermodynamics limit. We prove that for short strings the probability can be expressed in terms of Riemann zeta function with odd arguments.
A new family of hexanuclear ferric-lanthanide [Fe(III)(4)Ln(III)(2)(Htea)(4)(Piv)(6)(N(3))(4)] clusters, where Ln(III) = Er(1) and Lu(2) is reported. Variable temperature solid-state magnetic susceptibility studies of 1 and 2 reveal the presence of ferromagnetic (1) or competing anti- and ferromagnetic exchange interactions (2) between the constituent Fe(III) ions.
Spin wave excitations were measured in the ferromagnetic phase of Nd1/2Sr1/2MnO3 by neutron scattering. This compound is located in proximity to the A-type antiferromagnetic state, and it shows a clear anisotropy and anomalous softening of the spin wave excitations. The softening in the ferromagnetic phase is induced by the orbital ordering.
We demonstrate the relation of the infrared anomaly of conformal field theory with entropy considerations of finite temperature thermodynamics for the 3-state Potts chain. We compute the free energy and compute the low temperature specific heat for both the ferromagnetic and anti-ferromagnetic spin chains, and find the central charges for both.
We give a complete description of the set of periodic Gibbs states at low temperatures for classical spin systems with arbitrary ferromagnetic, finite-range, interactions and fairly general even single-spin distribution of compact support on R. This extends results of Holsztynski and Slawny for the spin-l /2 case. The extension is based on recent ferromagnetic inequalities and low-temperature e...
We present anisotropic thermal expansion measurements on single crystalline ErNi2B2C. All three, superconducting, antiferromagnetic and weak ferromagnetic phase transitions are unambiguously distinguished in the data. Anisotropic uniaxial pressure dependencies of the transitions are estimated based on the Ehrenfest relation, leading to a conclusion, in particular, that weak ferromagnetic state ...
