The textile dyeing units of Pallipalayam area of Namakkal District play a vital role in polluting the river Cauvery directly and spoiling the underground water levels indirectly by letting off their dyeing effluents. This leads to serious environmental hazards of aquatic organisms. In the present study, the textile dyeing effluents of six major textile dyeing units (ST1, ST2, ST3, ST4, ST5 and ...
BACKGROUND Hair graying is considered as a part of normal ageing process. Nonetheless, this process raises a significant cosmetic concern, especially among ethnic Korean elderly whose baseline hair color is black. For this reason, Korean elderly dye their hair with frequency despite the risk of dermatologic problems such as allergic contact dermatitis. OBJECTIVE In this study, the authors inv...
The natural dyes separated from plants are of gaining interest as substitutes for synthetic dyes in food and cosmetics. Thespesia populnea (T. populnea) is widely grown plant and used in the treatment of various diseases. This study was aimed to separate natural dye from T. populnea bark and analysis of its dyeing property on different fabrics. In this investigation pharmacognostic study was ca...
The transformation of petrol based polymers towards more sustainable and biodegradable materials includes the development bio-based pigments for mass coloration. Dye lakes prepared from aqueous plant sources could allow a substitution synthetic with material. shaping thermoplastic melt extrusion step at higher temperature e.g. 245 °C polyamide 6, thus suitable natural dye must exhibit sufficien...
Textile dyes loaded chitosan nanoparticles: Characterization, biocompatibility and staining capacity
Textile dyeing is a hazardous and toxic process. While traditionally it has been managed through effluent treatment, new approaches focused upon improving the process are gaining relevance. In this work, we sought to obtain, for first time, an eco-friendly chitosan-nanoparticle based textile method. To that end, yellow everzol navy blue itosperse loaded chitosan nanoparticles were produced thei...
textile industries use different chemicals in indigo dyeing processes. interest in eco-friendlyprocessing in the textile industry has recently increased because of a larger awareness of environmental issues. for the case of indigo dyeing process, the reducing agent conventionally used is the - environmentally unfavourable – sodium dithionite, which will be replaced in this study with an ecologi...
Potentialities of Natural Dyestuffs as Antifeedants against Varied Carpet Beetle, Anthrenus verbasci
We studied damage to wool fabrics dyed with different natural and chemical dyestuffs by the larvae of varied carpet beetle, Anthrenus verbasci, as part of a study on the functions of natural dyestuffs. Eight of ten natural dyestuffs showed an antifeeding effect against A. verbasci. Strength of the antifeeding effect of natural dyestuffs in a feeding preference test was in the order lac dye, gal...
In this investigation dyeing of alginate fiber was carried out after cationic treatment of 11 EPTAC (2, 3-Epoxypropyl Trimethyl Ammonium Chloride). Optimum dyeing process and 12 parameter show good dyeing performance when alginate fiber dyed with rhubarb dye. In addition 13 to cationic treatment is taken into account for alginate fiber to improve fastness, color strength, 14 breaking strength. ...
