Information processing has an important application which is speech recognition. In this paper, a two hybrid techniques have been presented. The first one is a 3-level hybrid of Stationary Wavelet Transform (S) and Discrete Wavelet Transform (W) and the second one is a 3-level hybrid of Discrete Wavelet Transform (W) and Multi-wavelet Transforms (M). To choose the best 3-level hybrid in each te...

(Received: October 30, 2011; Accepted: December 8, 2011) Abstract: This paper presents a novel technique for transformer differential protection to prevent incorrect operation due to inrush current. The proposed method in this paper is based on time-frequency transform known as the Wavelet transform. The discrete Wavelet transform is used for analysis the differential current signals in time an...

The performance of several decorrelating transforms is evaluated in the JPEG-2000 baseline system. The transforms considered are based on uniform parallel 2-channel and 8-channel lter banks and discrete cosine transform (DCT) building blocks. Through the analysis of lossy compression results, a system employing a combination of 8-channel and 2-channel lter banks is found to perform best overall...

background: fetal heart rate (fhr) extracted from abdominal electrocardiogram (ecg) is a powerful non-invasive method in appropriately assessing the fetus well-being during pregnancy. despite significant advances in the field of electrocardiography, the analysis of fetal ecg (fecg) signal is considered a challenging issue which is mainly due to low signal to noise ratio (snr) of fecg. objective...

Invertible wavelet transforms that map integers to integers are important for lossless representations. In this paper, we present an approach to build integer to integer wavelet transforms based upon the idea of factoring wavelet transforms into lifting steps. This allows the construction of an integer version of every wavelet transform. We demonstrate the use of these transforms in lossless im...

We show how periodized wavelet packet transforms and periodized wavelet transforms can be implemented on a quantum computer. Surprisingly, we find that the implementation of wavelet packet transforms is less costly than the implementation of wavelet transforms on a quantum computer.

Measuring cardiac activity from the chest using an accelerometer is commonly referred to as seismocardiography. Unfortunately, it cannot provide clinically valid data because easily corrupted by motion artefacts. This paper proposes two methods improve peak detection noisy seismocardiography data. They rely on discrete wavelet transform analysis either biorthogonal 3.9 or reverse 3.9. The first...
