Visualization techniques are especially relevant to multidimensional data, the analysis of which is limited by human perception abilities. The paper presents a hybrid method of multidimensional data analysis. The main goal was to test the efficiency of the method in the context of real-life medical data. A short survey of issues and techniques concerned with data visualization are also included.

This paper discusses visualisation of climate data. The possible use of an information mural for this purpose is explored as well as the potential of enhancing the visualisation with motion. It is investigated how these techniques help in the analysis of data distribution regarding different data dimensions such as temperature and precipitation. The work is accompanied by a presentation of the ...

The paper introduces the idea of generalising a cumulative frequency curve to show arbitrary cumulative counts. For example, in demographic studies generalised cumulative curves can represent the distribution of population or area. Generalised cumulative curves can be a valuable instrument for exploratory data analysis. The use of cumulative curves in an investigation of population statistics i...

The aim of `data visualisation' is to display a body of information in a way which allows accurate and e ortless human comprehension and analysis. Accordingly, the development of data visualisation techniques should be constrained by an understanding of both human perception and cognition. This report develops and examines a psychological framework for the development of data visualisation tech...

A Sense-and-Respond enterprise is one that is constantly evolving to keep up with the rapidly a changing business environment. While these enterprises are "data rich," they are often at the same time "information poor." There is a critical need to: • Display large amounts of data – to see the both the "needle" and the "hay." • Make complex patterns stand out – to focus on relationships that are...

Storytelling animation has a great potential to be widely adopted by domain scientists for exploring trends in scientific simulations. However, due to the dynamic nature and generation methods of animations, serious concerns have been raised regarding their effectiveness for analytical tasks. This has led to interactive techniques often being favored over animations, as they provide the user wi...
