This study presents the first record of Martesia striata (Linnaeus, 1758) in the Mediterranean Sea. It was detected during a routine monitoring study in the Iskenderun Bay, Turkey. The potential for M. striata to establish permanent population in the Mediterranean Sea and possible risks that might arise from such a situation were briefly discussed.

Problem statement The occurrence of terrible floods due to climate change has caused much damages in different parts of the world in recent decades, and the effect of these changes is more pronounced in dry areas. Floods are the most common environmental damage. On average, 60 floods occur annually in Iran, with an average annual flood loss of 141 people, meaning more than 2 deaths per year pe...
The availability of near-real time ozone observations from satellite instruments has recently initiated the development of ozone data assimilation systems. In this paper we present the results of an ozone assimilation and forecasting system, in use since Autumn 2000. The forecasts are produced by an ozone transport and chemistry model, driven by the operational medium range forecasts of ECMWF. ...
The impacts of El Niño–Southern Oscillation (ENSO) on the tropical total column ozone, the tropical tropopause pressure, and the 3.5-yr ozone signal in the midlatitude total column ozone were examined using the Goddard Earth Observing System Chemistry–Climate Model (GEOS CCM). Observed monthly mean sea surface temperature and sea ice between 1951 and 2004 were used as boundary conditions for th...
Air pollution is one of the most problems that people are facing today in metropolitan areas. Suspended particulates, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, ozone and nitrogen dioxide are the five major pollutants of air that pose many problems to human health. The goal of this study is to propose a spatial approach for estimation and analyzing the spatial and temporal distribution of ozone based on ...
Thunnus thynnus (Atlantic bluefin tuna, ABT) and other tuna species reproduce in the Mediterranean Sea during summer period. Despite Central Sea, Strait of Sicily particular, being a key spawning site for many species, little is known on effects oceanographic variability their larval distribution this area. The abundance presence-absence specimens three (ABT, bullet albacore) were modeled order...
