Recent studies indicate that a vast majority of people judge the probability of a conditional as to the conditional probability of (Evans, Handley, & Over, 2003; Oberauer &Wilhelm;, 2003). This means that in evaluating the applicability of a conditional people do not seem to take count of situations in which the antecedent event is false. This has been taken as evidenc...

This paper proposed fast Half-Sweep SOR via Nine-Point Laplacian (HSSOR9L) iterative method for solving path planning problem for a mobile robot operating in indoor environment model. It is based on the use of Laplace’s Equation to constraint the distribution of potential values in the environment of the robot. Fast computation with half-sweep iteration is obtained by considering only half of w...

A method of relative location for explosions using Rayleigh waves is developed and tested. It involves cross correlating a wavetrain with a previously recorded signal from the same source region and &?.t&mining a relative "travel-time" from the peak in the -ross correlation trace. Locations are fairly accurate, but do not compare with the precision obtained with body waves and relative travel-t...

Suppose that A E (]J',n is a block p-cyclic consistently ordered matrix and let Band Sw denote , respectively, the black Jacobi and the block Symmetric Successive Overrelaxation (SSOR) iteration matrices associated with A. Neumaier a.nd Varga found (in the (p(IBI),w)-plane) the exact convergence and divergence domains of the SSOR method for the class of H-matrice8. Hadjidimos and Neumann applie...

A preconditioned SSOR iterative method with a multi-parameters preconditioner I + S̃α is proposed. Some convergence and comparison results for αi ∈ [0, 1] are given when the coefficient matrix of linear system A is a nonsingular M−matrix. Numerical example shows that our methods are superior to the basic SSOR iterative method.

The locally-lexicographic symmetric successive overrelaxation algorithm (ll-SSOR) is the most eeective parallel preconditioner known for iterative solvers used in lattice gauge theory. After reviewing the basic properties of ll-SSOR, the focus of this contribution is put on its parallel aspects: the administrative overhead of the parallel implementation of ll-SSOR, which is due to many conditio...

Abstract. A generalized Cauchy problem for quasilinear hyperbolic functional differential systems is considered. A theorem on the local existence of weak solutions is proved. The initial problem is transformed into a system of functional integral equations for an unknown function and for their partial derivatives with respect to spatial variables. The existence of solutions for this system is p...

As the development of the PSOR method (a point parallel SOR method by mesh domain partitioning proposed in [SIAM J. Sci. Comput., 20 (1999), pp. 2261–2281], this paper introduces a new mesh domain partition and ordering (the multitype partition and ordering), and proposes a new block parallel SOR (BPSOR) method for numerically solving 2-dimensional (2D) or three-dimensional (3D) elliptic bounda...

This paper describes a method for the numerical solution of linear systems of equations. The method is a two-parameter generalization of the Successive Overrelaxation (SOR) method such that when the two parameters involved are equal it coincides with the SOR method. Finally, a numerical example is given to show the superiority of the new method.
