This article extends the analysis of table mixes for restaurants, on the principle that table mix helps drive revenue. The article presents the results of a simulation experiment of more than forty-six thousand restaurant contexts to evaluate the accuracy of “naïve table mix” calculations. An earlier study presented a simple method of calculating a recommended mix of tables in a restaurant, and...

In this paper we present eFarnel, a new electronic voting scheme based on the paper-based Farnel protocol. The new scheme corrects problems observed in previous proposes to simulate Farnel electronically. Moreover, we also define a new kind of mix net, called F-Mix-Net, which is required by our protocol.

A MIX net takes a list of ciphertexts (c1; ; cN) and outputs a permuted list of the plaintexts (m1; ; mN) without revealing the relationship between (c1; ; cN) and (m1; ; mN). This paper shows that the Jakobsson's ash MIX of PODC'99, which was believed to be the most eecient robust MIX net, is broken. The rst MIX server can prevent computing the correct output with probability 1 in our attack. ...

Safety critical applications for recently proposed vehicle to vehicle ad-hoc networks (VANETs) rely on a beacon signal, which poses a threat to privacy since it could allow a vehicle to be tracked. Mix-zones, where vehicles encrypt their transmissions and then change their identifiers, have been proposed as a solution to this problem. In this work, we describe a formal analysis of mix-zones. We...

BACKGROUND Reprocessing dialysers is a common cost-saving practice in the USA. It began when patients were treated with bio-incompatible cellulosic membranes that were associated with medical complications, but has continued for economic reasons despite the current use of more biocompatible non-cellulosic membranes. A dialysis services and product provider using primarily its own non-cellulosic...
