This paper examines whether consumers necessarily benefit from tightening the price cap. We find that a tighter price cap always increases consumer welfare when demands are independent. Conversely, when demands are interdependent a tighter price cap may reduce consumer welfare. 2000 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
The study determined the effects of garlic, ginger and their mixtures on the growth, serum lipids, haematological indices, carcass and organs of broilers. Garlic and ginger were each added to broiler diets at 1, 1.5 and 2%. Four mixtures of garlic and ginger were also formulated. Control diet did not contain any test ingredient. The results showed that garlic, ginger and mixtures contained 7.41...
Salmonella enterica serovar Enteritidis (Salmonella Enteritidis) has been associated with morbidity and mortality in broiler chickens worldwide. The present study described purulent arthritis of broilers infected with Salmonella Enteritidis and investigated antibiograms and genetic characteristics of Salmonella Enteritidis isolates from epidemiologically related properties such as a hatchery an...
DERAKHSHANFAR, A., R. GHANBARPOUR: A study on avian cellulitis in broiler chickens. Vet. arhiv 72, 277-284, 2002. ABSTRACT Avian cellulitis in broiler chickens, especially on the thighs and abdominal wall, has been observed more frequently in recent years. In the present study, over a one-year period 98 broiler carcasses with cellulitis were diagnosed at slaughterhouse. The lesions were charact...
This study was conducted to find the effect of methionine and threonine supplementations higher than the NRC recommendation on growth performance and white blood cell differentiation of broiler chickens challenged with infectious bursal disease. A total of 450 day-old male broiler chicks were assigned to nine groups. Chickens were fed by three graded levels of DLmethionine [NRC (M1), 2 times NR...
Three strains of Salmonella enterica serovar Infantis isolated from healthy broiler chickens from 2012 to 2013 have been sequenced. Comparison of these and previously published S Infantis genome sequences of broiler origin in 1996 and 2004 will provide new insight into the genome evolution and recent spread of S Infantis in poultry.
We describe the identification and characterization of the H9N2 influenza subtype reported in Egyptian broiler and broiler breeder farms for the first time. Circulation of this subtype in a highly pathogenic H5N1 influenza virus endemic population provides an opportunity for genetic reassortment and emergence of novel viruses.

Previous studies on the price and time trade-off in real estate focused primarily on the real estate traded in the secondary market. This relation, however, depends rather critically on seller motivations. This study examines the price and time trade-off for new residential developments where developer motivations differ substantially from individual seller motivations. In addition, by using th...
This paper extends previous works that view transit systems as minimizing their after-subsidy costs. The paper uses the expense preference behavior model in economics and derives ®rst-order conditions for the manager. From the ®rst-order conditions, the paper formally shows that the decomposition of relative price ineciency between management behavior and subsidies found in the work of Sakano ...
