Monthly sampling of red algae was carried out from April 2005 to March 2006 in Chabahar coasts (southestern of Iran) along Sistan & Baluchistan province coastal waters. We considered monthly periods of maximum tide according to tide tables. Then seaweed growth area in intertidal zones was determind through GPS, GIS and satellite imagery. Monthly sampling was conducted on a number of transects w...

Irrigation reservoir design associated with ungauged watersheds requires reliable watershed streamflow estimations. In practice, designs are either based on the empirical model of Department guideline or recent conceptual mathematical models. Use models require appropriate levels for calculation streamflow. Popular adequate guidance application safety factors to outputs. The two aspects that ne...

The simulation of the occurrence runoff-generated debris flows can be approached by means hydrological models. In this work, we show that a rainfall-runoff model designed for runoff in headwater rocky basins capture both transit timing first debris-flow surge and its hydrograph. We successfully compared stage hydrograph with simulated two Dolomites.

the role of unit hydrograph is very important in prediction of floods in the rivers, design protection and control structures in the catchment area. therefore in the basin without hydrometric stations, by using mathematical and empirical relationship and based on climatic data, the water level in the basin is estimated. two methods of geomorphologic instantaneous unit hydrograph and width funct...

Objectives: To investigate the monthly number of prescribed medication (NPM) patterns among different elderly populations and the factors associated with monthly NPM changes. Methods: This retrospective cohort study was conducted using the databases obtained from National Health Insurance Research Databases and a 2000-bed academic medical center in Taiwan (i.e., single-center cohort). We compar...

Groundwater is one of the most important water resources in Fars province. Based on this study, 95 percent of the total annual water consumption in Fars is used for agriculture, whereas the percentages for domestic and industrial uses are 4 and 1 percent, respectively. Population growth, urban and industrial growth, and agricultural development in Fars have created a condition of water stress. ...

according to recent studies, about 60 percent of surface waters and 57 percent ground waters are located in snowy zones in iran. in most areas of northern hemisphere and alpine environment areas, snow melt lead to the maximum instantaneous flow rate and is an important part of annual discharge. the present study investigated the effect of snowmelt on the surface waters and ground waters in baha...

The magnitude, frequency, duration, timing, and rate of change of hydrologic conditions regulate ecological processes in aquatic ecosystems. Conditions are typically characterized using annual-based hydrologic indices derived from daily and/or monthly stream flow data. In this study, we present an alternative approach to identify hydrologic indices based on storm hydrographs. Hydrologic indices...

[1] The purpose of this work is to investigate the feasibility of downscaling Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) satellite data for predicting groundwater level changes and, thus, enhancing current capability for sustainable water resources management. In many parts of the world, water management decisions are traditionally informed by in situ observation networks which, unfortunat...
