The N = 2 supersymmetric extension of the 2 + 1 dimensional Abelian Higgs model is discussed. By analysing the resulting supercharge algebra, the connection between supersymmetry and Bogomol’nyi equations is clarified. Analogous results are presented when the model is considered in 2-dimensional (Euclidean) space. CONICET Postal address: C.C. 67, (1900) La Plata, Argentina Investigador CICBA, A...

Local transmission of dengue fever virus in Argentina is increased by the presence of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes and dengue outbreaks in neighboring countries. From 1995 to 2001, a laboratory-based active surveillance program detected 922 dengue cases. Indigenous transmission involving dengue-1 and -2 serotypes was confirmed only in subtropical areas in northern Argentina.
