The pharmacokinetics of ceforanide were evaluated in 11 patients with end stage renal disease (creatinine clearance less than 5 ml/min). A single intravenous dose of 750 mg/m2 produced peak plasma concentrations of 123 +/- 29 microgram/ml. The plasma half-life (T 1/2) of the drug was 19.1 +/- 2.5 h. A 5.5 h hemodialysis session removed 53% of the drug and reduced the T 1/2 to 5 +/- 0.7 h. Plasm...

An experiment on induced breeding of gang magur, Hemibagrus menoda (Hamilton, 1822) using Ovatide hormone was carried out at in the Field Laboratory Complex Faculty Fisheries, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh. This study consists three treatments each with replications. The objective to find effective dose for breeding. A total number 54 brood fish were used among which 36 male an...

The synthesis of write-ahead logging has developed redundancy, and current trends suggest that the investigation of the Ethernet will soon emerge. Given the current status of clientserver models, cyberneticists predictably desire the construction of systems, which embodies the confirmed principles of theory [114, 114, 188, 62, 70, 62, 179, 68, 95, 68, 54, 152, 191, 114, 59, 168, 148, 54, 99, 58...

Myocardial stretch elicits a biphasic increase in developed force with a first rapid force response and a second slow force response (SFR). The rapid phase is due to an increase in myofilament Ca(2+) responsiveness; the SFR, analyzed here, is ascribed to a progressive increase in Ca(2+) transients. Experiments were performed in cat papillary muscles to further elucidate the signaling pathway un...

Endothelin-1 (ET-1) is elevated in chronic heart failure (CHF). In this study, we determined the effects of chronic ET-1 blockade on renal sympathetic nerve activity (RSNA) in conscious rabbits with pacing-induced CHF. Rabbits were chronically paced at 320--340 beats/min for 3--4 wk until clinical and hemodynamic signs of CHF were present. Resting RSNA and arterial baroreflex control of RSNA we...

To define the effects of circulating norepinephrine and epinephrine on cardiac function and to determine whether left ventricular function is influenced by parasympathetic mechanisms during catecholamine stimulation, hemodynamic changes were investigated in healthy young human subjects who were supine and awake during infusion of intravenous norepinephrine alone (125 ng/kg/min) (n = 6), norepin...

To determine whether endothelin (ET) has a role in maintaining circulatory support during hypotensive hemorrhage, we (1) examined cardiac and systemic hemodynamics after a 6-mL hemorrhage in the presence and absence of the ETA receptor blocker BQ-123, (2) examined cardiac and systemic hemodynamics during BQ-123 infusion in nonhemorrhaged rats, (3) measured changes in circulating immunoreactive ...
