this paper is on the elasto-plastic analysis of plane stress problems. a five-parameter yield surface is presented. this yield criterion uses associate flow along with mixed hardening rule. the analytical formulations are written and related computer program for non-linear analysis is prepared. finally, based on the formulations, numerical examples are solved.
Application of Thermo-mechanical Measurements of Plastic Packages for Reliability Evaluation of Pems
Thermo-mechanical analysis (TMA) is typically employed for measurements of the glass transition temperature (Tg) and coefficients of thermal expansion (CTE) in molding compounds used in plastic encapsulated microcircuits (PEMs). Application of TMA measurements directly to PEMs allows anomalies to be revealed in deformation of packages with temperature, and thus indicates possible reliability co...
S U M M A R Y Many unresolved questions in geodynamics revolve around the physical behaviour of the two-phase system of a silicate melt percolating through and interacting with a tectonically deforming host rock. Well-accepted equations exist to describe the physics of such systems and several previous studies have successfully implemented various forms of these equations in numerical models. T...
This paper examines the application of the incremental slitting technique for residual stress measurement to plastically deformed four-point bent beams and autogenously edge welded steel beams. Initially a study into a number of factors affecting the series expansion approach was conducted. Due to the over-determined nature of the series expansion approach appropriate selection of polynomial se...
In this paper, a stress integration algorithm is presented for a generalized elasto-plastic material model governed by the three stress invariants I1, J2 and J3. The methodology is successfully applied to the Mohr–Coulomb material model with a non-associated flow rule and implemented in ADINA.
The dependence of the Weibull stress is investigated on the parameters of the elasticplastic crack tip field. The general form of the Weibull stress is given for a three-parameter approximation of the elasto-plastic crack tip field. This is the basis to define a constraint correction of the critical value of the J-integral for cleavage fracture.
The problems of extension and shear behavior of structural elements made of carbon steel and subjected to large thermomechanical loads are investigated. The analysis is based on nonlinear geometric and constitutive relations, and is expressed in a rate form. The materiai constitutive eqtiations arc capab!e of reproducing all nonisothermal, elasto-viscoplastic characteristics. The results of the...
