We report on electrical transport measurements in a carbon nanotube quantum dot coupled to a normal and a superconducting lead. Depending on the ratio of Kondo temperature TK and superconducting gap , the zero bias conductance resonance either is split into two side-peaks or persists. We also compare our data with a simple model of a resonant level–superconductor interface. At low temperatures ...

Single crystalline Tl2Ba2Ca2Cu3O10 was studied using electronic Raman scattering. The ̋renormalization of the scattering continuum was investigated as a function of the scattering geometry to determine the superconducting energy gap 2∆( $ ) k . The A1gand B2g-symmetry component show a linear frequency behavior of the scattering intensity with a peak related to the energy gap, while the B1g-symme...

We report neutron scattering studies on two single crystal samples of the electron-doped (n-type) superconducting (SC) cuprate Nd2-xCexCuO4 (x=0.15) with T(c)=18 and 25 K. Unlike the hole-doped (p-type) SC cuprates, where incommensurate magnetic fluctuations commonly exist, the n-type cuprate shows commensurate magnetic fluctuations at the tetragonal (1/2 1/2 0) reciprocal points both in the SC...

A single-level quantum dot with Coulomb repulsion attached to two superconducting leads is studied via the perturbation expansion in the interaction strength. We use the Nambu formalism and the standard many-body diagrammatic representation of the impurity Green functions to formulate the Matsubara self-consistent perturbation expansion. We show that at zero temperature second order of the expa...

We present a detailed study of the effects of interface spin-orbit coupling on the critical field behavior of ultrathin superconducting Be/Au bilayers. Parallel field measurements were made in bilayers with Be thicknesses in the range of d=2-30 nm and Au coverages of 0.5 nm. Though the Au had little effect on the superconducting gap, it produced profound changes in the spin states of the system...
