By definition, Cayley graphs are vertex-transitive, and graphs underlying regular or orientably-regular maps (on surfaces) are arc-transitive. This paper addresses questions about how large the automorphism groups of such graphs can be. In particular, it is shown how to construct 3-valent Cayley graphs that are 5-arc-transitive (in answer to a question by Cai Heng Li), and Cayley graphs of vale...
We present in this paper a parallel execution model of arc-consistency for Constraint Satisfaction Problems (CSP), implemented on a scaleable MIMD distributed memory machine. We have adopted the indexical scheme, an adequate approach to arc-consistency for functional constraints. The CSP is partitioned into N partitions, which are executed in parallel on N processors. Each processor applies seq...
In this contribution Newton techniques based on Numerical Differentiation (ND), Direct Approach (DA) and Difference Matrix (DM) procedures are applied for the computation of the periodic steady state solution of single phase nonlinear electric networks containing magnetizing branches of transformers and alternating current arc furnaces. The results obtained with the Newton methods are compared ...
Some considerations of long wavelength and broadband radiation sources based on the emission of the coherent radiation by a train of short relativistic electron bunches moving in an open resonator along an arc-like or undulator trajectories and some new versions of the transition radiation sources and long wavelength sources based on storage rings are presented. 2 Contents.
A long-gap ac arc with a length of more than 10 m (secondary arc) is normally generated at the short-circuit channel after single-phase-to-ground fault. In previous studies, breakdowns secondary arcs have mainly been considered as electrical breakdowns, ignoring role heat in channel. Besides, extinction-reignition theory arc, i.e., dielectric strength recovery theory, still lacks support experi...
We construct the first example of a finitely generated group which has Serre’s property (FA) (i.e., whenever it acts on a simplicial tree it fixes a vertex), but admits a fixed point-free action on an R-tree with finite arc stabilizers. We also give a short and elementary construction of finitely generated groups that have property (FA) but do not have (FR).
Two series of current measurements made with GEK and drogues arc shown to agree closely, not only in the averaged results of three days’ data, but in short-period variations about the mean. The variations measured are probably too large to bc the ordinary tide, and the possibility of their being the orbital velocities of internal waves is discussed.
