OBJECTIVES Primary cusp repair + aortic root reimplantation in bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) disease presenting with root aneurysm with aortic insufficiency (AI) is an effective surgical treatment. We assessed whether the geometric orientation of the repaired BAV into its reimplanted neoroot affects outcomes-180°/180° orientation was compared with the 150°/210° orientation. METHODS From 2005 to...

Cochlear implants are being applied to an ever widening patient population, including children in whom lifetime use of these devices is anticipated. Replacement of implants can be expected for reasons of device failure as well as future upgrading. This investigation was undertaken to examine the effect of cochlear electrode explanation and reimplantation on spiral ganglion cell survival. Guinea...

Dilatation of the pulmonary autograft after the Ross procedure is a possible complication, necessitating aortic valve replacement. We present a case of a patient who developed pulmonary autograft dilatation and was treated successfully with valve-sparing aortic root reimplantation with a Valsalva graft.

We describe the case of a 65-year-old man who presented with a false aneurysm of the right aortic coronary sinus, discovered after a routine medical examination. A complete resection of the aortic root and a reimplantation technique were performed. Herein, we describe the technical approach and immediate follow-up.

Anomalous origin of the right coronary artery from the pulmonary artery is a rare condition. Two cases are presented in this paper. One case was treated by ligation and coronary artery bypass. The other was treated by direct reimplantation of the anomalous coronary artery into the aorta.
