Characteristics Higher Level Structures SEF is located at the rostral end of the supplementary motor area, contiguous with the representation of orofacial, pinna and forelimb movements. SEF is located in Brodman’s area 6 and corresponds to area F7 [1]. The human SEF is located on the medial surface of the superior frontal gyrus in the upper part of the paracentral sulcus (Fig. 1). 10.1007/978-3...

Bovine papilloma virus was injected s.c. and intracerebrally in newborn and weanling hamsters. Connective tissue tumors (fibromas, chondromas, and meningiomas) were produced in the subcutaneous regions of the back, pinna of the ear, and the meninges. The tumors did not contain evidence of viral infection when examined by histologie, immunofluorescent, and electron microscopic means. The tumors ...
Auricular perichondritis is a dangerous complication of the traumatized ear that can lead to residual deformity. The most common pathogen is Pseudomonas aeruginosa, followed by Staphylococcus aureus. A 14 year old female presented to the emergency department (ED) complaining of pain and swelling in her right pinna for two weeks after an ear piercing, she was treated with antibiotics and showed ...
We describe a parsimonious model for the directiondependent transfer function of the pinna. The model describes the transfer function with reference to resonators located in particular physical positions relative to the ear canal. The purpose of the work is to provide a parametric model that permits identi cation with moderate data-gathering, and lter speci cation for any direction without the ...
An eccrine poroma is a common benign tumour arising from the eccrine sweat gland duct epithelium in the dermo-epidermal region. Its occurrence in the neck region in pediatric age group is a rare entity. Here we report a case of an eccrine poroma in the retro-auricular area just below and behind the lobule of the left pinna in a nine years old child.
Transparent regenerative chambers similar to the type originally developed by Sandison (1928), Kirby-Smith (1933) and Clark and Clark (1942), but with slight modifications of our own (Ezra 1966, 1967) were implanted in the central portion of the pinna (Fig. I). The table of the chamber was well vascularised and ready for bone implantation in three weeks. Autogenous bone was obtained from the sp...
