Recently, the fate of endocrine disruptors in environmentally relevant samples has attracted considerable attention. Semiconductor photocatalysis may offer an appealing methodology to treat such contaminants. In this respect, the simultaneous degradation of synthetic hormones employing UV irradiation and TiO2 as the photocatalyst were investigated. Our interest was focused on des...
Micro/nanostructured TiO 2 , ion-doped 2, and heterojunction composite photocatalysts have low toxicity, high biocompatibility, photocatalytic antibacterial activities broad applications in the fields of photocatalytic, antibacterial, orthopedic implants. The -based depend on their preparation methods. In this review, methods effects were reviewed. Based excellent physical chemical properties p...
the use of colored semiconductor oxide like copper (ii) oxide and nickel (ii) oxide for photocatalytic bleaching of rose bengal was investigated in detail. in order to harness the solar energy, the effective wavelength of the photocatalyst is to be expanded into the visible region and that increases the rate of photocatalytic bleaching of the dye. progress of the reaction was observed spectroph...
The production of hydrogen (as a clean energy carrier that could replace fossil fuels) nowadays attracts much attention because of environmental pollution and energy demands1–3. Recently, hydrogen evolution technologies, such as production by steam reforming4, electrolysis5, degradation of organic pollutants in wastewater6, and photoelectrochemical splitting of water7 have been investigated. Am...
Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are a new class of crystalline organic polymers that have garnered significant recent attention as highly promising H2 evolution photocatalysts. This Perspective discusses the advances in this field of energy research while highlighting the underlying peremptory factors for the rational design of readily tunable COF photoabsorber-cocatalyst systems for optimal...
BiOX have been grown on the surface of activated carbon fibers (ACF) as recycled photocatalysts. The analysis results illustrate that electrostatic adsorption plays an important role in the formation of BiOX/ACF composites. The photocatalytic experimental results indicate that BiOX/ACF show excellent cyclic properties and stable performance.
Core(TiO(2))/shell(SiO(2)) nanoparticles, with a void layer between the TiO(2) core and the silica layer, act as phase-selectivity photocatalysts for the photodecomposition of organic pollutants (gas phase) without any damage to their organic supports (solid phase).
Glutathione-protected Au25 clusters were used to load monodisperse gold nanoclusters (1.2 ± 0.3 nm) onto BaLa4Ti4O15 to create photocatalysts. The photocatalytic activity of the resulting material for water splitting was determined to be 2.6 times higher than that of catalysts loaded with larger gold nanoparticles (10-30 nm) via conventional photodeposition.
Hybrid photocatalysts consisting of single crystalline BiFeO3 nanowires and laser ablated Au nanoparticles were synthesized by a functionalization-step-free solution process. The 1.0 wt% Au nanoparticle decorated BiFeO3 nanowires exhibit ~30 times higher photocatalytic activity for water oxidation than that exhibited by the parent wires during the first 4 h.
