Basic properties of the suggested phenomenological model of tribocorrosion wear are considered. Using a friction pair austenitic stainless steel-ceramic in acid electrolytes as an example, a good agreement between predicted data and experimental evidence was obtained.

Some proton-incident data have been published on elastic-scattering and total-reaction cross sections in the intermediate energy region. Such results as well as experimental data obtained by polarized proton beams are useful for parametrizing global optical model potentials in detail. In contrast, neutronincident experiments on elastic scattering are more difficult than proton ones, so that the...

We propose a model addressing the coupling mechanism between two spatially modulated monolayers. We obtain the mean-field phase diagrams of coupled bilayers when the two monolayers have the same preferred modulation wavelength. Various combinations of the monolayer modulated phases are obtained and their relative stability is calculated. Due to the coupling, a spatial modulation in one of the m...

The phenomenology of a LiFeAs superconductor can be explained in the framework of four-band s±-wave Eliashberg theory. We have examined the experimental data available in the literature and we have found that it is possible to reproduce the experimental critical temperature, the gap values and the upper critical magnetic field within an effective model in a moderately strong coupling regime tha...

We explore phenomenologies of the topflavour model for the LEP experiment at m Z scale and the atomic parity violation (APV) experiment in the C s atoms at low energies. Implications of the model on the Z peak data are studied in terms of the precision variables ǫ i 's. We find that the LEP data give more stringent constraints on the model parameters than the APV data.

The paper proposes a two-stage model able to describe the dynamic behavior of a commercial magnetostrictive actuator in the frequency range of interest for fast actuation purposes. The first stage is a static model of hysteresis, while the second one is a linear dynamic model. The model structure allows to define well-assessed identification procedures for both stages. In particular, the identi...

Semi-active control devices have received significant attention in recent years because they offer the adaptability of active control devices without requiring the associated large power sources. Magnetorheological (MR) dampers are semi-active control devices that use MR fluids to produce controllable dampers. They potentially offer highly reliable operation and can be viewed as fail-safe in th...

We develop a phenomenological model of electro-mechanical ferroelectric fatigue based on a ferroelectric cohesive law that couples mechanical displacement and electric-potential discontinuity to mechanical tractions and surface-charge density. The ferroelectric cohesive law exhibits a monotonic envelope and loading-unloading hysteresis. The model is applicable whenever the changes in properties...

The internet structure is extremely complex. The Positive-Feedback Preference (PFP) model is a recently introduced internet topology generator. The model uses two generic algorithms to replicate the evolution dynamics observed on the internet historic data. The phenomenological model was originally designed to match only two topology properties of the internet, i.e. the richclub connectivity an...
