Continuous improvement in multislice computed tomography technology has further enabled advances in coronary artery bypass graft imaging. Multidetector platforms and retrospective electrocardiography gating have enabled sensitivities and specificities in the 95% to 99% range while avoiding the morbidity associated with invasive catheter angiography. Identification of bypass graft stenoses and b...

Stenosis of the subclavian artery, before the left internal mammary artery branch, is an important problem for patients who have undergone coronary artery bypass grafting, with an incidence rate of 0.5-1.1%. In this paper, a case of left subclavian artery stenosis, which developed after coronary artery bypass surgery and led to recurrent anginal attacks in the patient, is presented.

Herein, we are presenting a case of persistent interatrial septal defect diagnosed during coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). Twice, attempts had been made to close this shunt using amplatzer septal occlude. However, percutaneous technique had failed in both occasions. The patient presented with chest pain 4 years after the second attempt and required urgent CABG. Persistent shunt was repai...

Anomalous origin of left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery (ALCAPA) is a rare congenital anomaly that causes a left-to-right shunt via the coronary system, resulting in coronary steal. We report an unusual case of a healthy 48 years-old patient presenting with dyspnea on exertion and mild chest pain who underwent surgical correction of this rare anomaly. Multiple procedures have been pr...

Background: Since there is a lack of research on postoperative anticoagulation protocol in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) / coronary endarterectomy (CE), we recommend a new protocol for anticoagulation in these patients. Methods: In this double-blind randomized clinical trial study, 52 patients undergoing CABG / CE entered the study and were divided into two groups. In...

A 71-yr-old male patient with three vessel coronary artery disease underwent a coronary artery bypass graft. The patient was found to have a large pericardial defect at the apex of the heart that measured approximately 18 cm in circumference. The edge of the pericardial defect impinged on the epicardial coronary arteries. The left phrenic nerve descended via the dorsal boundary of the pericardi...
