Interdural hematomas are primarily observed in infants, and adult interdural hematomas are rare. We describe a 54-year-old woman with a round, well-defined mass. The mass was an interdural hematoma that was misdiagnosed as an epidural hematoma. Unlike an epidural hematoma, interdural hematomas are located between the two layers of the dura mater, and the dural tail sign can be observed.

We describe a sixteen years old male patient that suffered a craniocerebral trauma and presented at the emergency room, with ocular pain, palpebral hematoma and left eye proptosis. Orbital computed tomography showed left subperiosteal orbital hematoma. A surgical drainage was performed. Subperiosteal hematoma of the orbit is a rare cause of proptosis; its early diagnosis must be made in order t...

Subdural hematoma is a rare cause of parkinsonism. We present the case of a 78-year-old man with right-side dominant parkinsonism about 3 months after a minor head injury. MRI reveals a chronic subdural hematoma on the left side with mildly displaced midline structures. The parkinsonian features were almost completely disappeared after neurosurgical evacuation of the hematoma without any anti-p...

Acute upper airway obstruction may occur secondary to hematoma formation following traumatic internal jugular vein (IJV) cannulation. Though uncommon, hematoma after central access can be a life-threatening event that requires early and prompt intervention. We present two different cases of airway obstruction caused by hematoma formation following IJV central line placement and discuss key mana...

Case Presentation : An 18-year-old conscious male wo...

The pilot phase of the Intensive Blood Pressure Reduction in Acute Cerebral Haemorrhage Trial (INTERACT) showed that rapid blood pressure (BP) lowering can attenuate hematoma growth in acute intracerebral hemorrhage. We sought to define the systolic BP level associated with greatest attenuation of hematoma growth. INTERACT included 404 patients with computed tomographic– confirmed intracerebral...
