Heckenberger introduced the Weyl groupoid of a finite-dimensional Nichols algebra diagonal type. We replace matrix its braiding by higher tensor and present construction which yields further groupoids. Abelian cohomology theory gives evidence for existence associated to such tensor.

Sonicates from five cultivable treponemes were used as antigens in delayed hypersensitivity tests and macrophage inhibition assays. Immunodiffusion analysis showed that the sonicate comprised two major antigenic components which were not distinguishable in the skin tests. The sonicate antigens elicited significant cell-mediated immunity in guinea-pigs. Treponema refringens biotype Nichols prove...

In this paper, a fractional order flight controller design scheme for the altitude control of vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) UAV is presented. The altitude control system can be decoupled and identified as a simple first order plus time delay model under some constraints. Based on this identified model, the traditional modified Ziegler-Nichols PI controller can be designed. Meanwhile, the...

This paper proposes a swarm intelligence method that yields optimal Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) Controller parameters of a power system stabilizer (PSS) in a single machine infinite bus system. The proposed method utilizes the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm approach to generate the optimal tuning parameters. The paper is modeled in the MATLAB Simulink Environment to anal...

For the needs of industrial practice a new controller parameter setting method has been presented recently. It is based on experimentally performed evaluation of excited frequency responses with the aim to achieve the recommended values of one or more control quality indicators known from course of the Nyquist plot. Unlike their linear origin, the indicators can be obtained in control loops inv...

Bill Nichols

In his article "The Terrorist Event," Bill Nichols examines how the U.S. media attempted to make meaning of the events of 9/11. How were news anchors and producers to explain an event that escaped their comprehension? Without context or historical equivalence in the U.S., news outlets groped for a narrative in which to frame the event even if that meant creating the meaning themselves. In their...

1 Arguments from Reference and the Worry About Dependence "Arguments from reference" are arguments that employ the assertion of a substantive theory of reference as a premise in an argument with a philosophically significant conclusion. Recent work has challenged the viability of these arguments on the basis of empirical evidence of variation in the intuitions that substantive theories of refer...

Mallon, Machery, Nichols and Stich (2009) argue that the use of intuitions in the philosophy of reference is problematic as recent studies show intuitions about reference vary both within and between cultures. I use some ideas from the recent literature on disagreement and truth relativism to shed light on the debate concerning the appropriate reaction to these studies. Mallon et al. argue that...

Protected areas are commonly assumed to (and most do) harbour higher densities of wildlife than adjacent, humanmodified landscapes (Woodroffe & Ginsberg, 1998; Melville & Bothma, 2006; Gaston et al., 2008; Newmark, 2008; Kiner et al., 2009). In north-central Namibia, farmers believed that leopard (Panthera pardus) densities were growing on farmland areas adjacent to Waterberg Plateau Park and t...
