In this paper, we deal with the problem of spatially and temporally registering multiple video sequences of a non-rigid dynamical scene. For example, registering multiple videos of a fountain taken from different vantage points. Our approach is not based on frame-by-frame or volume-by-volume registration. Instead, we use the dynamic texture framework, which models the non-rigidity of the scene ...

This paper proposes a technique for the threedimensional reconstruction of an underwater environment from multiple range views. The final target of the work lies in improving the understanding of a human operator guiding an underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV) equipped with an acoustic camera, which provides a sequence of 3D images in real time. Since the field of view is narrow, we devis...

In this work, we are mainly dealing with the stitching of panoramic images. However, the methods described and evaluated here can also be used for different applications in image mosaicing. 1 The University of Auckland, Computer Science Department, CITR, Tamaki Campus (Building 731), Glen Innes, Auckland, New Zealand

In this paper an Automatic System for Image Digital Capturing (ASIDC) is described. The aim of ASIDC is to create high resolution digital images depicting paintings of large size. The system creates a set of N digital images presenting sequential frames of the total picture. By using software we proceed to the mosaicing (pasting) of the images producing the complete detailed digital image.

Classical confocal microscopy can be used to obtain high-resolution images of cells in tissue samples or cell cultures. Translation of this technology for in vivo applications can be achieved by using optical fibers and miniature optics. Ultimately, fibered confocal microscopy should enable clinicians and biologists to perform what can be referred to as an optical biopsy : a real-time histologi...

Interpreting endomicroscopic images is still a significant challenge, especially since one single still image may not always contain enough information to make a robust diagnosis. To aid the physicians, we investigated some local feature-based retrieval methods that provide, given a query image, similar annotated images from a database of endomicroscopic images combined with high-level diagnosi...

In this paper we present an image mosaicing method for camera-captured document images. Our method is unique in not restricting the camera position, thus allowing greater flexibility than scanner-based or fixed-camera-based approaches. To accommodate for the perspective distortions introduced by varying poses, we implement a two-step image registration process that relies on accurately computin...

This paper describes AniMorph a system for animation driven Concatenative Sound Synthesis (CSS). We can distinguish between two main application domains of CSS in the context of music technology: target sound re-synthesis, and free sound synthesis. The difference between these two categories is that in target sound re-synthesis the aim is to re-create a sound or a sound’s characteristics by pro...
