One-dimensional Ginzburg–Landau equations with derivatives of noninteger order are considered. Using psi-series with fractional powers, the solution of the fractional Ginzburg–Landau (FGL) equation is derived. The leading-order behaviours of solutions about an arbitrary singularity, as well as their resonance structures, have been obtained. It was proved that fractional equations of order α wit...

We consider magnetization dynamics under the influence of a spin-polarized current, given in terms of a spin-velocity field v, governed by the following modification of the Landau– Lifshitz–Gilbert equation ∂m ∂t + v · ∇m = m × (α ∂m ∂t + β v · ∇m − Δm), called the Landau– Lifshitz–Slonczewski equation. We focus on the situation of magnetizations defined on the entire Euclidean space m(t) : R3 ...

We study dynamical and thermal effects that are induced in nanoparticle systems by a rotating magnetic field. Using the deterministic Landau-Lifshitz equation and appropriate rotating coordinate systems, we derive the equations that characterize the steady-state precession of the nanoparticle magnetic moments and study a stability criterion for this type of motion. On this basis, we describe i ...

Abstract. We consider the spatially homogeneous Landau equation of kinetic theory, and provide a differential inequality for the Wasserstein distance with quadratic cost between two solutions. We deduce some well-posedness results. The main difficulty is that this equation presents a singularity for small relative velocities. Our uniqueness result is the first one in the important case of soft ...

We consider the Ginzburg-Landau equation, @ t u = @ 2 x u+u?ujuj 2 , with complex amplitude u(x; t). We first analyze the phenomenon of phase slips as a consequence of the local shape of u. We next prove a global theorem about evolution from an Eckhaus unstable state, all the way to the limiting stable finite state, for periodic perturbations of Eckhaus unstable periodic initial data. Equipped ...

Results from a comprehensive analytical and numerical study of nonequilibrium dynamics in the two-dimensional complex Ginzburg-Landau equation have been presented. In particular, spiral defects have been used to characterize the domain growth law and the evolution morphology. An asymptotic analysis of the single-spiral correlation function shows a sequence of singularities-analogous to those se...

This paper studies questions related to the dynamic transition between local and global minimizers in the Ginzburg-Landau theory of superconductivity. We derive a heuristic equation governing the dynamics of vortices that are close to the boundary, and of dipoles with small inter vortex separation. We consider a small random perturbation of this equation, and study the asymptotic regime under w...

A semiclassical method is used to study Landau damping of transverse pseudospin waves in harmonically trapped ultracold gases in the collisionless Boltzmann limit. In this approach, the time evolution of a spin is calculated numerically as it travels in a classical orbit through a spatially dependent mean field. This method reproduces the Landau damping results for spin-waves in unbounded syste...

We show numerically that the one-dimensional quintic complex Ginzburg–Landau equation admits four different types of stable hole solutions. We present a simple analytic method which permits to calculate the region of existence and approximate shape of stable hole solutions in this equation. The analytic results are in good agreement with numerical simulations.

We study a complex Ginzburg-Landau equation in the plane, which has the form of a Gross-Pitaevskii equation with some dissipation added. We focus on the regime corresponding to well-prepared unitary vortices and derive their asymptotic motion law. 2000 Mathematics Subject Classification: 35B20,35B40,35Q40,82D55.
