While evidence indicates that early stage disease has better prognosis, the effect of delay in presentation and treatment of patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) on survival is debatable. A retrospective study of 122 Malaysian patients with NSCLC was performed to examine the presentation and treatment delay, and its relation with patient survival. Median (25-75% IQR) interval betwee...

Last three decades have witnessed revolutionary changes in the management of patients with ST-elevation acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Despite the advances in pharmacological and interventional treatment, the magnitude of morbidity and mortality from AMI remains quite substantial. It is widely acknowledged that the key factor in the successful treatment of AMI by thrombolytic therapy is the...

INTRODUCTION Delay in diagnosis and treatment has a great influence on morbidity and mortality of ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients. Every 30 min of delay in reperfusion is associated with an 8% increase in mortality. ECG teletransmission was proved to effectively shorten time delays in STEMI treatment. In 2012 an ECG teletransmission program was introduced in the Lowe...

Several studies have shown sex differences regarding help-seeking behaviour in stroke and transient ischemic attack [TIA] patients. Women are less likely to perceive their symptoms as requiring immediate hospital care. They also more inclined involve friends family decision-making help-seeking. Delaying transport the is partly due behavioural socio-demographic factors of female These impact pro...

Objective. We examined the cause of transfer delay in patients with an acute ST-segment myocardial infarction (STEMI) from non percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) capable to PCI capable hospitals. We then implemented a novel, simple, and reliable initiative to improve the transfer process. Background. Guidelines established by the ACC/AHA call for door-to-balloon times of ≤90 minutes for p...

this article proposes a direct method for solving three types of integral equations with time delay. by using operational matrix of integration, integral equations can be reduced to a linear lower triangular system which can be directly solved by forward substitution. numerical examples shows that the proposed scheme have a suitable degree of accuracy.
