This article utilizes the experimental method to investigate the thermal performance of heat sinks with one and two pairs of embedded heat pipes. A heat sink with embedded heat pipes transfers the total heat capacity from the heat source to both the base plate and heat pipes, and then disperses heat into the surrounding air via the forced convection. The heat transference from base plate to fin...

The spectral formulation of the stochastic finite-element method is applied to the problem of heat conduction in a random medium. Specifically, the conductivity of the medium, as well as its heat capacity are treated as uncorrelated random processes with spatial random fluctuations. Using the spectral stochastic finiteelement method, this paper analyzes the sensitivity of heat conduction proble...

parallel hypodermic-tubing probes extending from a small sensor body (Fig. 1). Hereafter, probe will be used Dual-probe heat-capacity (DPHC) sensors can be used to measure to describe the hypodermic tubing components while soil heat capacity (C ), water content, and temperature. Research sensor will refer to the entire assembly. One probe conwas conducted to test design factors that affect sens...

After discussion of other models for representing heat capacities, the volumetric model used in resolution of lanthanide Schottky contributions over the cryogenic range and a more recent single-parameter formula to represent the lattice heat capacity, to resolve excess heat capacity contributions, to extrapolate lattice heat capacity beyond the measured temperature regions, and to predict therm...

Previous research has shown that composite shape-stabilized phase change material (CPCM) has a remarkable capacity for thermal storage and stabilization, and it can be directly applied to highway construction without leakage. However, recent studies on temperature changing behaviors of CPCM and asphalt mixture cannot intuitively reflect the thermoregulation mechanism and efficiency of CPCM on a...

A new method for analyzing second-order phase transitions is presented and applied to the polaronic system La(0.7)Ca(0.3)MnO3. It utilizes heat capacity and thermal expansion data simultaneously to correctly predict the critical temperature's pressure dependence. Analysis of the critical phenomena reveals second-order behavior and an unusually large heat capacity exponent.

run-out-table (rot) is located between last finishing stand and down coiler in a hot strip mill. as the hot steel strip passes from rot, water jets impact on it from top and bottom and strip temperature decreases approximately from 800-950 °c to 500-750°c. the temperature history that strip experience while passing through rot affects significantly the metallurgical and mechanical properties, s...

The heat capacities of synthetic pyrope (Mg,Al,Si,O,,), grossular (CasAI,SisO12), and a solid solution pyrope,,grossular,, (Mg,,sCa,,,Al,Si,O,,) have been measured by adiabatic calorimetry in the temperature range l&350 K. The samples were crystallized from glasses in a conventional pistoncylinder apparatus. The molar thermophysical properties at 298.15 K (J mol’ K‘) are: c; So298 % H’h, &P Pyr...

1 Heat-capacity The heat capacity of MoPrP PrP C was computed using the variance of the potential energy distribution C v = 1 k B T 2 U 2 − U 2. (1) The distribution of the potential energy in the simulations together with the computed C v for MoPrP and alanine dipeptide systems are shown in Figure S1 and S2 respectively.
