This paper describes an object-based approach to the problem of reconstructing three-dimensional descriptions of arterial trees from a few angiographic projections. The method incorporates a priori knowledge of the structure of branching arteries into a natural optimaiity criterion that encompasses the entire arterial tree. This global approach enables reconstruction from a few noisy projection...

This article presents the results of an unsupervised segmentation algorithm in multispectral images. The algorithm uses a minimization function which takes into account each band intensity information together with global edge criterion. Due to the unsupervised nature of the procedure, it can adapt itself to the huge variability of intensities and shapes of the image regions. Results shows the ...

In this paper, the global asymptotic stability of delayed cellular neural networks of neutral-type is investigated. A novel delay-dependent criterion for the stability using the Lyapunov stability theory and linear matrix inequality (LMI) framework is presented. Since the condition is dependent on the size of time delay, it is usually less conservative than delay-independent ones. Two numerical...

Boolean functions with high nonlinearity and good autocorrelation properties play an important role in the design of block ciphers and stream ciphers. In this paper, we give a method to construct balanced Boolean functions on n variables, where n ≥ 10 is an even integer, satisfying strict avalanche criterion (SAC). Compared with the known balanced Boolean functions with SAC property, the constr...

This paper investigates the global delay-dependent robust stability in the mean square for uncertain stochastic neural networks with time-varying delay. The activation functions are assumed to be globally Lipschitz continuous. Based on a linear matrix inequality approach, globally delay-dependent robust stability criterion is derived by introducing some relaxation matrices which, when chosen pr...

The B formal method has been successfully used in large projects and is not reserved to experts. The main correctness criterion of B is that every piece of code must preserve invariant properties. In this article, we brieey introduce the basic notions of B. We then concentrate on the proof obligations. After introducing them, we show how the sum of local proofs makes a global consistency. We be...

In this paper, based on the off-axis circle criterion, a sufficient condition with a simple graphical explanation is derived to analyze the global asymptotic stability of a type of Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy control systems in case of different constant reference inputs. Three numerical examples are given to demonstrate how to use the proposed method in analyzing the T-S fuzzy control systems.

It is important for having the initiative in competition to infer the rival’s private information accurately. In this paper, the rival’s decision making model is described by influence diagram. According to the criterion that rival is apt to gain the global maximum expected utility rather than to gain the local maximum expected utility, we infer rival’s private information about cost, bankroll,...

Improved sample-based trade-off surface representations for large numbers of performance criteria can be achieved by dividing the global problem into groups of independent, parallel sub-problems, where possible. This paper describes a progressive criterion-space decomposition methodology for evolutionary optimisers, which uses concepts from parallel evolutionary algorithms and nonparametric sta...

The stability of the Camassa-Holm (periodic) peakons in the dynamics of an integrable shallow-water-type system is investigated. A variational approach with the use of the Lyapunov method is presented to prove the variational characterization and the orbital stability of these wave patterns. In addition, a sufficient condition for the global existence of strong solutions is given. Finally, a lo...
