The most common degradations in images is their poor contrast quality. Edge Enhancement is the art of examining images for identifying objects and judging their significance. The proposed paper uses the concept of hybrid edge detection method based on fuzzy sets and cellular learning automata to detect the gray level changes of neighbors of every pixel, and to detect the edge by using the chang...
In case of fuzzy reasoning in sparse fuzzy rule bases, the question of selecting the suitable fuzzy similarity measure is essential. The rule antecedents of the sparse fuzzy rule bases are not fully covering the input universe therefore fuzzy reasoning methods applied for sparse fuzzy rule bases requires similarity measures able to distinguish the similarity of non-overlapping fuzzy sets, too. ...
Hellinger distance is a distance between two additive measures defined in terms of the RadonNikodym derivative of these two measures. This measure proposed in 1909 has been used in a large variety of contexts. In this paper we define an analogous measure for fuzzy measures. We discuss them for distorted probabilities and give two examples.
Fuzzy authentication allows authentication based on the fuzzy matching of two objects, for example based on the similarity of two strings in the Hamming metric, or on the similiarity of two sets in the set difference metric. Aim of this paper is to show other models and algorithms of secure fuzzy authentication, which can be performed using the rank metric. A few schemes are presented which can...
Some of the well-known fuzzy clustering algorithms are based on Euclidean distance function, which can only be used to detect spherical structural clusters. Gustafson-Kessel clustering algorithm and Gath-Geva clustering algorithm were developed to detect non-spherical structural clusters. However, the former needs added constraint of fuzzy covariance matrix, the later can only be used for the d...
We give a geometrical interpretation of the interval-valued fuzzy set (IVFS). Based on the geometrical background, we propose new distance measures between IVFSs and compare these measures with distance measures proposed by Burillo and Bustince (1996) and Grzegorzewski (2004), respectively. Furthermore, we extend three methods for measuring distances between IVFSs to interval-valued intuitionis...
In this paper, two generalized hesitant fuzzy generalized Shapley-Choquet integral operators are defined, which globally consider the importance of elements in a set, and the correlations among them. Some important special cases are examined. An improvement order relationship between hesitant fuzzy elements (HFEs) is introduced, and a new distance measure of HFSs is defined. This distance measu...
In this paper, a new approach to rank fuzzy numbers based on sign distance is proposed. Our proposed method is extension of sign distance method and to decrease the set of equivalence callas of fuzzy numbers. Illustrative examples are included to show the advantage of the proposed method.
We have calculated interactions between two fuzzy spheres in 3 dimension. It depends on the distance r between the spheres and the radii ρ1, ρ2. There is no force between the spheres when they are far from each other (long distance case). We have also studied the interaction for r = 0 case. We find that an attractive force exists between two fuzzy sphere surfaces.
Geocomputation has a long tradition in dealing with fuzzyness in different contexts, most notably in the challenges created by the representation of geographic space in digital form. Geocomputation tools should be able to address the imminent continuous nature of geo phenomena, and its accompanying fuzzyness. Fuzzy Set Theory allows partial memberships of entities to concepts with non-crisp bou...
