Cover illustration: A farmer from Devon, England, 1942, with the divine power of finding water using only his hands and a hazel twig.
A new method of the multichannel blind deconvolution is introduced. The algorithm is simple, computationally efficient and does not need any statistical presumptions about the image. Any a priori knowledge about the PSF and the original can be incorporated very easily. The numerical simulations and experiments give promising results comparing to other restoration methods.
Sheridan, in his “Toward an Eclectic Ontology of Presence” (Sheridan, 1999), approaches the semblance of an ontological argument with discussion of “divine presence” in relation to virtual reality communications media and the consequent effect of virtuality upon the mind/matter ensemble. Although he doesn’t offer proof for God, Sheridan (and subsequently Mantovani and Riva, who accept Sheridan’...
This essay explains and analyzes Robert John Russell’s theory of divine action. Russell’s proposal has exercised significant influence on others working in the area of science and religion with interests in Christian systematic theology. It would be valuable to trace the lines of that influence, but I do not have space to do that here. I can testify to his influence in more personal terms, howe...
This paper is an overview of important concepts and formulas involved in the application of coupling coefficients of microwave resonators for the design of bandpass filters with a particular emphasis on the frequency dispersion of coupling coefficients. The presumptions and formulas are classified into accurate, approximate, and erroneous ones.
Apparent Michaelis constants for nucleotides in transcription of yeast tRNA gene by homologous RNA polymerase III with auxiliary protein factors, were found to be remarkably higher in initiation than in elongation of RNA chain. This supports presumptions regarding topological similarities between catalytic centers of bacterial and eukaryotic RNA polymerases.
In his recent version of the logical problem evil, James Sterba articulates several moral principles that, on assumption that God is morally perfect, seem to entail God’s non-existence. Such principles, however, only apply he a agent. I first argue against this by appealing work Mark Murphy before, secondly, suggesting an alternative way frame Sterba’s argument in terms divine love. One can dis...
