Although Red Brick performance depends primarily on the logical database design, the placement and allocation of data files in the disk subsystem is another significant performance factor. There are many choices in the configuration and design of the physical database layout. This article reviews best practices propagated by storage and database vendors and presents measurements that compare st...
Solid burnt brick sized 290 × 140 × 65 mm or 303 × 145 × 70 mm respectively, represents one of most widespread brick building material, both structural and nonbearing ones, in Czech historical buildings. During their rebuilding and reconstruction, we frequently ask for brickwork material strength. Most exact method is to take test samples just from the construction and put them to trial neverth...
Objective To compare the oral abuse potential of hydrocodone extended-release (ER) tablet developed with CIMA ® Abuse-Deterrence Technology with that of hydrocodone immediate release (IR). Design Randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, crossover study. Setting and Patients One study site in the United States; adult nondependent, recreational opioid users. Methods After confirming th...
We present a case of an accidentally crushed stent due to an unnoticed passage of a guidewire through a lateral stent strut with subsequent stent compression after balloon dilatation, during a planned percutaneous coronary intervention on the left main. The crushed stent segment was reconstructed with step-by-step balloon dilation, guided by intravascular ultrasound.
High performance concrete (HPC) requires a low water-to-cementitious materials mass ratio (w/cm), often with the inclusion of supplemental cementitious materials such as silica fume in the mixture, thus necessitating the use of a superplasticizer. Because of the low w/cm and rapid reaction at early ages, proper curing from the earliest time possible is very essential in HPC. Internal curing has...
Vegetated roofs, i.e. green were continuously measured for runoff to quantify their capacity manage stormwater in a field experiment southern Finland, with distinct seasonality and varying weather conditions. Attention was paid heavy storms study the potential mitigating urban flooding. In addition, impact of biochar amendment (10% v /v) on rainfall retention studied. Meadow vegetation establis...
Several studies have highlighted the potential of crushed brick aggregates in non-structural concrete. This is because offer substandard mechanical properties comparison to natural stone aggregates. Synthetic Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) sheets been known overcome this issue. However, enormous costs associated with synthetic FRPs may limit their use several low-budget applications. study reco...
an experimental study is conducted on three ½ scales, single-story, single-bay, frame specimens. the first specimen was a reinforced concrete frame with solid-brick infill. the second specimen was a reinforced concrete frame with hollow clay perforated-brick infill. the last specimen was a reinforced concrete frame without any infill. these three specimens were tested by pseudostatic method. di...
