The thermally induced reaction of chlorinated ethanes on the nearlystoichiometric α-Cr2O3 (1012) surface results in the formation of gas phase hydrocarbons including ethylene, ethane, acetylene, 2-butene, 2-butyne and dihydrogen, and deposition of surface chlorine adatoms. No surface carbon or combustion products are observed in any reactions indicating no thermally induced C-C bond cleavage oc...

We have previously shown that oxide semiconductors (TiO2, NiO, Cr2O3, etc.) exhibit remarkable catalytic effects when heated at high temperatures of about 350–500 C and that the effect has been interpreted in terms of the formation of a large number of highly oxidative holes caused by thermal excitation of semiconductors. This prompted us to utilize this technology for complete removal of volat...

The objective of this paper is to manufacture free-standing solid oxide cells (SOCs) through the atmospheric plasma spray process (APS), without aid a metallic support nor need for post-process heating treatment. A five-layered cell was fabricated. Fused and crushed yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) powder in 5–22 μm particle size range used order achieve dense electrolyte layer, yet still permi...

Residual stresses’ magnitude generated by deposition, quenching stress, thermal stress operation temperature, and infiltration in the barrier coating (TBC) of gas turbines was determined. A manufactured deposition two layers, CoNiCrAlY yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ), on an AISI 304 stainless steel substrate. The deposited using HVOF gun YSZ atmospheric plasma spray (APS). TBCs were heat-treat...

A series of chromium oxides (Cr2O3) nanoparticles supported on different carbonaceous material, namely: graphene, graphene oxide (GO) and graphite, were synthetized by precipitation the salt precursors with precipitant (ammonia) subsequent thermal treatment. The catalytic activity these composites Cr2O3 have been analysed Koutecky-Levich (KL) rotating ring-disc electrode methods results discuss...

Solid oxide fuel cells are promising hydrogen energy devices. The goal of this research was to create ceramic layers for SOFCs based on yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) and investigate their parameters. YSZ with a thickness 5.14 ?m porous NiO–YSZ substrate 7 pyrolytic graphite were obtained by electrophoretic deposition. X-ray diffraction electron microscopy used determine the composition, stru...

A new multi-layered thermal barrier coating system (TBCs) containing gadolinium zirconate (GZ, Gd2Zr2O7) and yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) was developed using suspension plasma spray (SPS) to improve the overall cycling performance. This study focuses on cracking behavior of GZ/YSZ TBC after exposure find out key factors that limit its lifetime. Different behaviors were detected depending tr...

Composites formed by infiltration of 45 wt % La0.3Sr0.7TiO3 (LST) into 65% porous yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) were examined for application as solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) anodes. Although LST does not react with YSZ, the structure of the LST deposits was strongly affected by the calcination temperature. At 1373 K, the LST formed loosely packed, 0.1 μm particles that filled the YSZ pores. ...
